I have two wnr2000v3 routers. (one as a spare)
They were working perfectly for months.
Then last month they both quit picking up the DHCP assigned IP addresses from the modems. I have even tried other modems. Same with the second 2000v3 router. Now a LinkSys router works ok. (But is slow....)
The modems work as long as I don't use the Netgear Routers.
After a week of trouble shooting with the ISP I calledd the Tech Support line and spoke to someone in India. He said it was a software problem and was not covered by the warrentee.
Comee on... I've been working in computer/electronics for over 30 years. How is firmware not hard ware???
Does any one have a simular problem?
I am now using a Linux computer as my router (two ether net cards) feeding the netgear router to supply wireless access. |
