Were changes made to iptables some how? I have my gateway/router setup with guest wifi on wl0.1 using "Seperate LAN and WLAN wiki" and cannot get acess to the Internet. My guests are handed an IP, DNS, gateway from DHCP but cannot reach the Internet.

Any ideas? Is this a bug or just a change to NAT or something? I've never had a problem with this setup/guide/wiki always works 100% until the last few 17xxx builds.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Should have mentioned running this all on a Cisco-Linksys E4200 v1

=]

Yeah, same router, this has been "broken" for a while as you need to add manual iptable commands for any VLAN or VAP setups.

I don't have easy access to mine at the moment, but search through my more recent threads for the rules I have used.

Allright here.
Start seeing what's consuming resources with top command to check out where the problem comes from.

p.s.
how is wireless performance there?
Here I still get low throughput even at first connection. And it drops to ridiculous values over time: 160Mbps at beginning, it should go at 300, and lowers slowly to 16/12Mbps even with network usage Shocked

Great job guys. Using "DD-WRT v24-sp2 (12/08/11) big - build 17990M NEWD-2 K2.6 Eko" on my E4200 have the following observations so far:

1. 5Ghz seems more unstable varying wildy from 270 up-to 450, using channel 161+157, 40Mhz. Have left transmit power at 100 - should this be ok? Will monitor for next few hours and hope that maybe it will settle down again.
2. Interference setting for eth1 (2.4Ghz only) still not set at boot or if it is, as before, any changes through GUI resets it. Having to use start-up script to set sleep command to reset every 30 seconds as before
3. NAT still not working by default when I set up a VAP or VLAN. Have to use iptables in firewall start-up script. Maybe this is the new "default", but hardly user-friendly and breaks any related wiki guides.
4. I think SSH is regenerating the keys each reboot, but need to test this, just need to do some work now that I'm up and running again.
5. NAS + SAMBA + NTFS support works fine so far, but wondering where the USB device dismount option is?

FYI - did a 30/30/30 reset before and after the upgrade, so all settings manually re-entered.

I can confirm the same result regarding SSH on reboot.

FTP works but samba doesn't. I get a segmanation fault when trying to manually start the samba server via command line interface.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Please deal with testing and troubleshooting the SSH issue in this thread:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=148009

Dealing with it here will make this thread unreadably long. I will give a day or two to move the information over to the SSH thread before deleting the troubleshooting posts.

Got 17990 on the AP and Wireless:
Two identical WNDR3300's can only get up to 270 from each. And every time I go to change the Channel I get a different list of what's available and not the same on either unit. It's a pain when you set the Client Bridge, save and the settings disappear. In the upper register of channels the two will not connect: 136, 161 and 216 failed. Whereas, 40 @ 40 - Upper seems to be the only one that really works well with a somewhat stable 270 @ 71 mW.

Port 1 is broken on both as it was with 17967.

Will try placing the WAN port on Client Bridge to the switch and see if I can get in? Can get in. Port runs @ 10Mbps.

Using an Intel 6300 and E4200 with 17990 BIG BS/EKO

LAN to WLAN (1Gbps to 5Ghz) seems limited somehow. This issue has been there for a while but figured i'd note it here also. What I mean is when i'm copying a file from my file server to my laptop it tops out at 10-11MB/s and seems to try going above but then always throttles back to that range (10-11MB/s). It's like there's a governor (think like in cars) slowing it down whenever it goes over.

The other way (WLAN to LAN) works just fine, in that I get 22-25MB/s which is the normal I get with Linksys firmware (1.0.03 or whatever the latest is). I've tried uprading without clearing NVRAM to see if DD-WRT can use the same settings but it always instantly results in lower speeds.

IN general I know DD-WRT isn't as fast as stock but this seem as if there's something holding downloads back to say 100Mbps LAN speeds. Uploads as I said seem to just be limited by the specs. This is my only issue i have left with DD-WRT on this router. 10MB/s is fast but annoys me to no end cuz I feel like some setting is holding it back. I've try changing every setting in advanced wirelss for 5Ghz and nothing changes.

Side note - My IP changes whenever i'm on DD-WRT to a certain one every time. I thought it was sending the wrong MAC address but it's not. My modem doesn't need a reboot also. I can switch 5 times in 10 minutes by just uploading the new firmware (DD-WRT and Stock) and it'll switch between the 2 ranges (69.x and 67.x) every time getting back the same IP address. That makes no sense as the router's software should cause another IP address to be assigned.

I had the same problem, you need to be running the latest intel drivers... I recommend going to their site and running the auto updater... should be running 14.2.x.

I get 55-65mb/s down on 5ghz band and I have 100mb link..
