Many universities in Europe are using this standard.
I know there is a solution also for linux.

Is/Will be a possibility to join such encrypted network with dd-wrt?

but using VPN or web authentication is possible in client mode...i also can repeate the university signal using "Universal Repeater" of the DD-WRT, but when the signal is repeated is not possible to use PEAP or EAP for the clients..but VPN or web authentication works very nice for the client´s.

but remember to repeate the university signal with protection, otherwise the teacher´s will find quite a strange how they are using the university internet from an SSID that is not from the university Laughing
