18777 works fine except LAN ports can't see each other. If you follow the howto you won't brick your router.
And then you use the Router Database Search window write WR740, then choose version 4, where are the files? Appears only:

Why is there no flash files? As with version 2 ...

Click on Other downloads, go to 2012, after that to 03-19-12-r18777, and you will find what you searched...
it's called a website, there are links, click on link "other downloads" then click on link "2012", then link "03-19-12-r18777", and finally "tplink_tl-wr740nv4".
Which is the best working build for a TP-Link WR740N v4.21? With the 18777 i have some problems while in Client Bridged mode (wireless clients connected to the client router loose the internet connection after 2-3 minutes).
There's no good working build for this device, since it's just appeared (support added from build 18740). Wait for new builds to appear, which will be more good. Me too, still waiting...
I have finally found the cause of the Client Bridge problems on WR740N and now it works without problems on Build 18777.
It seem to be working well only if the main router also uses DD-WRT. If the main router WRT160NL has the original Linksys firmware deployed it drops the connection every 2 minutes. With the DD-WRT installed on the main router too everything works well.
I don't understand why you still report the same issues and go to stock FW, waiting for the new build.
Just go for Openwrt while they don't release a new build, and enjoy a fully working router until then!
