I successfully converted my WR-740N into DD-WRT firmware. My Wifi range signals is low. I want to extend the range by enabling super channel. I have to 4 questions.
1) How to enable Super channel as it required some kind of key.
2) How can i get that key?
3) If I enable super channel will my Wifi range increase to double at least?
4) Will I be able to connect my mobile & laptop devices without any issue when super channel is enabled?
Sorry, as i am in a little hurry i haven't got the time to read the entire thread.
My Hardware and firmware details are as follows ...
Router Name : DD-WRT
Router Model : TP-Link TL-WR740N v4
Firmware Version : DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/25/13) std - build 21061
Kernel Version : Linux 3.6.11 #211 Mon Mar 25 09:22:42 CET 2013 mips
I flashed DD-WRT to transform this router into a repeater.
Why don't you try with the latest firmware?
Mine is r28598.
Can you please provide me the download link ...
(actually i am visiting my nephew and i am trying to setup a repeater for him ... hence my inability to read through or look for information myself ... apologies on seeking information without proper research)
i tried setting my IP for this router as 192.168.3.1(192.168.1.1 being that of the orginal router being repeated) ... this fixed the disappearing act of the router, however i am still not able to connect to it though !!!

with its default encryption standards of DD-WRT.

Could someone point me the one encryption that will work on both the primary and secondary routers enabling successful repeater function to devices connected to it.
Anyone can help me... I need to increase some range for my router..
Tx Power in the field is 20dBm but status page shows 16dBm...
Also what I read, Antenna Gain is no more used..
Does Wide HT40 have any effect?
Thanks to anyone who helps _________________ TP-Link: TL-WR740N
