1. I was searching the net for r7000 transmission install and I came across this http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Bittorrent_on_R7000.

Basically it says "a version of <Kong's> firmware including the Transmission bittorrent client is available on <Kong>'s server".

I'm just wondering if all of Kong's releases include transmission and not just "a version"

2. my second question is the performance of transmission from this device. I've used raspberry (using single core A7. A7 are less powerful than the A9 on this router but has 512mb RAM) and it's fine. can be slow sometimes.

Thanks a lot:)

Hi,
to my knowledge newer Kong versions don't include Transmission. Brainslayer's versions do include Transmission.
I am running latest Brainslayer r27240 on my R7000. Transmission performance is sufficient. Haven't done much, but I've seen transfer rates around 6-7 Megabytes/sec on my 200 Mbits/sec connection. I should mention that I had to raise UDP send and receive buffers to achieve this.

Is this the location for brains layer's version?

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2015/06-05-2015-r27240/netgear-r7000/

If not, can you please link it?

Thanks a lot Smile

This is precisely what I am using Smile
However, I am not sure which previous version you are running on your R7000, you might have to reset to defaults after flashing.

Can you please reply how many active torrents/max peers you have enabled without affecting the other functions too much? I don't want to set 100 active torrents + 50k peers just because it's gonna slow down the whole device a lot. or maybe even crash it.

thanks! Smile
