I have a linksys E3000 running DD-WRT. Recently, i decided to try to use my Droid X and Kindle Fire wirelessly with the router. Prior to this, I had the 2.4GHz band turned off. Now, when i try to connect the phone or kindle fire the first time to my router, it will connect fine. But if i turn wireless off on my phone, or put my fire away (without turning it off), they will not connect to the router. They can see it, and it says it has a good signal, but will not connect. I can reboot the devices and get nothing, but as soon as i reboot the router the devices will get back in. Until next time i do that.
Any suggestions? I tried setting a task for a reboot every morning, but that only helps if i stop using the devices at night, not in the afternoon (for example)
it turns out i am using "DD-WRT v24-sp2 (10/02/10) mega - build 15337M NEWD-2 K2.6 Eko". It has been a while since i updated. I kind of stopped after the e3000 board was locked. I never realized this would be an issue for me since i had the 2.4GHz band turned off.
Do you think this is a DD-WRT issue, or a hardware issue?
also, i forgot to mention, my current TX is set to 71. Will lowering that TX help with devices connecting? I thought it was for how strong the signal was pumped up for transmission through the air?
Well, usually eko builds for E3000 are kind of experimental. So I suggest using a BrainSlayer build or a Kong build. The recommended build is 14929, but 15962 is reported to be most stable for an E3000, while others say that build 16875 works best. _________________ 2 times APU2 Opnsense 21.1 with Sensei
