OK upgraded to 18024 just fine through GUI. However trying to go back to OEM through the GUI will not happen. I was able to break into the CFE with a serial adapter and issue "tftpd". Now at this point I used TFTP2.exe (with static IP of 192.168.1.10) to upload the OEM firmware to the router. It upgraded without a hitch.

Now, LOM you magician you, can you make a GUI revert file for this router? Attached is the OEM firmware.

EDIT: Man with just mini on this thing the nvram is almost full 31.03KB/32KB

When I load the firmware built via firmware mod kit, then everything loads okay. However when I built the binary from source then it did not load okay and the CFE complained that it could not load the image.

Attached are the logs for the good bootup and the bad bootup case.

A-ha! This should end your problems: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=453598#453598

See what tsanga did with the help of LOM, of course!
Good find I had looked at that thread before at the recomedation of LOM but only for the board_data file. After you reposted the link this is what happened.

In WNR3500v2-V1.2.2.28_25.0.85NA.chk I changed the header info from "U12H127T00_NETGEAR" to "U12H127T70_NETGEAR" and uploaded the file to the waiting "Reading ::". It took it and ran with it.

At this point I had OEM firmware running back on it. So I checked all the MAC's in the OEM firmware to make sure they were correct. They were.

Then loaded from the OEM GUI dd-wrt.v24-18024_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-WNR3500v2.chk. to my amazement it loade fine. Changed the password, then checked the system info and wouldn't ya know it, all the MAC's were correct.

BIG thanks to fggs for pointing out that link again.

Even BIGGER thanks to LOM for participating in the OP.

THANKS a million for this post and this thread, all of you! I have been fighting with this for days! WNR3500v2 Back up & running!
This ancient post is still coming in handy! Very Happy
