Hi everyone, so for some reason I am getting high pings when pinging the router itself (192.168.1.1) from 800ms-2500ms and sometimes it just stops responding completely for a few minutes.

I have about 20-25 devices connected at the same time via wifi but when I check the status, neither the cpu load or memory seems to be overloaded. None of the devices do anything more than stream videos/music(no p2p) and my active ip count is 1500-2500(never coming close to the 4096 cap), and when I kick off a few devices the pings go back to normal.

I recently upgraded from an older 2011 version of dd-wrt to DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/25/13) std - build 21061. The old version also had the same problem so I thought this might fix it but it didn't so I am guessing it's either a hardware problem or the router is really being bogged down.

If the numbers on the device status screen is accurate, what is causing it the router to stop responding/lag?

That's my status page right before it starts lagging when 2-3 more devices connect and start streaming.

Any ideas are appreciated!

Maybe packet scheduling?

Maybe enable QoS with the adequate upload and download settings to your connection and prioritize SYN, FIN, RST?
