Router: Linksys WRT54GL
Firmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (07/22/09) mini
Connected to Internet: via Broadband Modem
Should be waked up: MacMini Late2012 with OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion)
iPhone App I use vor wakeup: iNet WOL Version 1.5.3
I am trying to setup WOL over Internet but I did not figure out for days and I hope that someone can help me.
Whats working over LAN:
sending my MacMini in sleep-mode or shutdown in LAN
Whats not working over LAN:
Waking up my MacMini
Whats working over Internet:
nothing (no sleep, no wakeup, no shutdown, no reboot)
Sleep/Shutdown Packets go through Port 22 (TCP) and WOL goes through Port 9 (UDP) - is this maybe a good hint what could be wrong with my configuration?
By the way I have a fixed IP from my ISP.
Attached i have some screenshots of my configuration:
I dont know the answer to your question, but I know some folks will tell you that you need to use the firmware that is known to be the best working version for your GL router (same router I use, so I will agree with the version) which is build 14929 http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=52043

The net broadcast should be 192.168.1.255 .
When your computer is turned off, it has no IP address. You need to send the WOL pocket through the broadcast address, which is 192.168.1.255.
You may also try the telnet/ssh session in the router, and use the following command, which is what I do when I'm waking up my computer over the internet. Of course, you need to enable your router to be accessible via the internet to do this.
Code:
/usr/sbin/wol -i 192.168.1.255 A8:20:66:34:E2:B3
I don't know how you shut down computers. I do it over the computer's ssh.
thank u for your tips but I think that I first need to solve the problem that I can not wake it even over LAN. I just can restart or shutdown but not wake up.
regarding the right build:
I use now for my WRT54GL Firmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (07/22/09) mini.

Its only possible to use the micro-builds because they are <2MB right?
I give 10,00 award per paypal for the one who helps me with the right hint whats wrong in my configuration.
Thank you
When you wake up over LAN, you need to designate 192.168.1.255 as the IP (broadcast address) where you send the wakeup packet. Of course, you need to make sure your computer has this function properly enabled.
If you have a WRT54GL, there should be 4MB of flash RAM, and you can flash it with the "standard" version of dd-wrt.
I changed the forwarding to 192.168.1.255 and I updated the firmware to build 14929 but i did not resetted all settings. Do I have to do this in every case?
I also tried the following: after sending the macmini to sleep-mode I logged in with my iPad to the routers admin and I tried a "manual wake up" on Manual WOL in the administration part. Also here nothing happened. The Router even did not show the IP of my Mac mini.

Change the Net Broadcast to 192.168.1.255, and then try clicking "Wake Up" after your testing computer is properly shut down.
Also make sure your testing computer's LAN is connected after it's shut down. The light in the computer's LAN port should be lit up when it's shut down.
