@Wachimiro

OK, so I don't know if you know this, but you need to instal the factory webflash version of the firmware first, when you install dd-wrt for the first time. After that you install the dd-wrt webflash version (the larger file) for the additional features and after that for any new versions of the dd-wrt firmware you also install the dd-wrt webflash version.

Confirmed today: h1 was bricked by r23598!
Roll back to the original firmware (DIR615Hx-FW804B01beta01.bin) was unsuccessful, the box wasn't start after flashing. Then I tried to flash r23503 (factory-webflash) and everything working fine! Maybe it will be useful for someone else.

Hello Sarex,

My DIR 615 also got bricked by r23598; I tried many times different releases e.g. r23503 and my old r21061 (my previous fw release on my router) etc. via emergency door procedure;

Via emergency door steps; It always says:
----------------
Device is Upgrading the Firmware
100 %

NOTICE !!
Don't turn the device off before the Upgrade jobs done !
----------------

But when I reboot router via removing and inserting power cable router does not come up green instead the power light is always solid orange.

Any input shall be of great helpful.
To me It seems this is completely dead Sad !!

Thanks for your time and help in advance!!

Make your pc have an IP like 192.168.0.x; unplug the router - push the reset button - repower the router; contact the router via f.ex. firefox 192.168.0.1 and you will be prompted to install the original (dlink) fitmware. Than you have a status you can work with and install dd-wrt-firmware. With my dir-615h1 it worked after lots of try & error.
But what I don't understand is:
Why is fw r23598 always available on the ftp when everybody knows that it bricks routers?????????
Scrap it until a new release is available.

Hi Ervau, Sarex,

Finally I managed to make my DIR-615 in working condition.

Just for others help who might face problems like me....

I tried multiple times with "emergency flashing procedure" for uploading the DD-WRT different releases (factory/std version both); most of the time the webpage says, firmware updated 100% but router does not automatically boots and when I reboot again the power light still remains solid orange color and nothing works.
Then finally I tried to update the D-Link original firmware (http://www.dlink.com/de/de/support/product/dir-615-wireless-n-300-router?revision=de_revh) and it is accepted by router with "emergency flashing procedure" and then I again flashed it with DD-WRT r23503 and it is working fine now Smile

I completely agree with ervau "Why is fw r23598 always available on the ftp when everybody knows that it bricks routers?????????
Scrap it until a new release is available so that user do not waste their time to brick and then fix the router like me => frustration.

Thanks for your help!!

I just installed a dd-wrt firmware on my dir615 h1 rev and I have some questions about it.

I forward the ports after inbstalling, the router says it works on wireless with 54mbps so with utorrent I get only 2,2 MBps. when I had the original firmware 8.0 the speed was 8 MBps on wireless.

What I did wrong?

what is your wi-fi rate on dir615 h ? mine is 54mb/s and can't modify. I tried N only, NG mixed ; none works. I have an 802,11n wi-fi card.

Router Model
Dlink-DIR615 rev h
Firmware Version
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (12/24/13) std - build 23204

Tried the
iwpriv ra0 set HtTxStream=2
iwpriv ra0 set HtRxStream=2
but didn't work.

I tried a reset of ddwrt software, and got 70mb/s rate , not 300 as it should be. Any ideea ?

I disabled the wireless security mode and my router wi-fi has gone to 150mb/s. With another settings enabled ( WPA, WPA2, WEP ) i get 54 mb/s.

WHY ????

You might want to read this thread:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=259787&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

I suggest to use firmware 23320, do the 30/30/30 reset before and after the update. Then, in settings use the default Mixed and for wireless security use WPA2 Personal + AES.

Make sure you put these 4 lines in the Startup Command Shell:
sleep 20
iwpriv ra0 set HtTxStream=2
sleep 5
iwpriv ra0 set HtRxStream=2

Also, install latest drivers on your WiFi card (in case you're not sure, drop me a line with the card model and OS version and I'll search a driver for you).

Hope this helps.

EURIKA !!! It worked !! I used the 23503 because the dd-wrt.com was down, and made step by step what u told me. Now it shows the beautifull 300 mb/s . But the laptop is only connecting on 150 mb/s, maybe is the maximum that he can handle. It's an netbook Asus EEPC 1001HA.

Thanks a lot !!

Why not stay on 22320 ? My DIR-615 D2 router is up for 18 days now on this firmware, without any issues whatsoever. It seems very stable @ 300 Mb/s. I haven't gone further because 23503 increased Tx rate from 71 to 100 mW and sometimes drops connection and the following 3 firmwares apparently brick the router.

I brick my router so others don't have to. xD

Joking aside, I usually try the new firmware to see if anything is new or better and if I don't have any issues I keep it.
