24461 still bricks my 615 H1.

Why on earth are non-working releases being published for almost 5 months straight? 23503 was released in early february...

I've noticed that Wireless Rate is only 150Mbit with DD-WRT 02-04-2014-r23503 while it's 300Mbit with stock D-Link firmware. How come? Is there any release of DD-WRT that support 300Mbit?

02-04-2014-r23503 is the latest version that not put my DIR-615 H1 in an endless boot loop. Hope there's a new working release soon.

Ok, I have been on the forum already in March, but I got time now to try this again.

It is quite humiliating. I work in IT support, but clearly I learn the hard way now that networks are not my speciality.
I have a D-Link Modem. That cannot be switched to DD-WRT. As it looks there are no (or nearly no) DD-WRT able modems.
Now I bought a 615 (H) and wanted to set it behind, to make the VPN connection and send out an additional WiFi that transports my connection to privateinternetaccess.com

There is a VPN panel in DD-WRT on my 615. But even with helpful answers on my blogpost, I was yet not able to do that.

a) I am even dumber than anticipated
b) maybe VPN does not work on the 615? Perhaps a problem that there is not enough memory or something?

Does somebody here have VPN running on a comparable configuration?

http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=259787 - thanks @ KrypteX

Step1:
In Wireless -> Basic settings: set Channel Width to 40. Apply settings. Wait for the router to set things up.

Step2:
In Administration -> Commands -> Command shell, add this:

sleep 20
iwpriv ra0 set HtTxStream=2
sleep 5
iwpriv ra0 set HtRxStream=2

Click on Save Startup.
In Administration -> Management: Reboot router (this must be done in order for the startup commands to take effect).

DIR-615h doesn't support open VPN, which I guess is what you are looking for.

Hi ... I confirm that after firmware upgrade from 21061 to revision 23503, the dd-wrt is working nice on dir-615 rev.h2. I have done few tests on:
- pppoe connection ... ok
- ssh connection ... ok
- the DNS auto update ... ok
- port forwarding ... ok

After an hard reset the router will do yellow blinking ... just plug out the power cable and after 10 s connect the power cable again.

If this is not working, try the following:

- Do a hard reset 30/30/30;
- if you already have ddwrt installed on the router try a firmware upgrade with r23503webflash (http://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2014/02-04-2014-r23503/dlink-dir615h/dir615h-ddwrt-webflash.bin) with the option "Reset to Default Settings"
- if you don't have ddwrt instaled, try to install the factory r23503 (http://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2014/02-04-2014-r23503/dlink-dir615h/dlink-dir615h-factory-webflash.bin)

- finally do another hard reset 30/30/30.

Why not stay on 22320 ? My DIR-615 D2 router is up for 18 days now on this firmware, without any issues whatsoever. It seems very stable @ 300 Mb/s. I haven't gone further because 23503 increased Tx rate from 71 to 100 mW and sometimes drops connection and the following 3 firmwares apparently brick the router.

Yes, I can confirm that firmware 23320 is one of the most stable for D-Link DIR-615 D2 and H2 versions. It works flawlessly since January 2014 when I installed it. 23503 is problematic and the rest of the newer firmwares brick the router.
I wonder if anyone tried the "latest and greatest" firmware 25143 (October 2014) ? It seems a LOT of changes have been made in this one since the last major release 24461 (June 2014).
