I have apparently a E1200 V2 (it says after model No:E1200 V2 on the sticker) and it runs 2.0.04 firmware.
I tried various walkthroughs and various versions of the 1200 mini, as stated there, including the dd-wrt.v24-18946_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e1200v1.bin as stated in this forum, but it all ends up by a the gauge running a couple of seconds and then a pop-up message "Upgrade Mislukt" wich translates as "Upgrade Failed".
ANy hints?

Follow the instructions in the wiki exactly:

thank you, but it was this WiKi I followed, including hard or 30/30/30 reset before flashing I. used the link for the minimal image for 1st flash (dd-wrt.v24-21676_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e1200v2.bin ), and that is the one that makes the "update failed" pop-up appear.
(Sure, it could have been worse and I would have had another paperweight
I switched off virus scanners, tried the horrible IE browser instead of Chrome but nothing seems to work.
Can it be that Cisco lately introduced some kind of name-check for the .bin file? It is the only thing I can think of. To check this, does anyone know the original name of the image file so that I can try renaming the dd-wrt image file?

Do not screw with the firmware file. Flash OEM firmware and then try again. _________________ Hope that helps,

I just wanted to know if there is a reboot button on the router page. Cause my router is far away and I just use a repeater to get the connection to my place.
So in-case I need a reboot, there is a button on my official firmware.
I just want to know if the same is available on the mini.
Okay never mind the above question. There doesn't seem to be a reboot button.
Also, I installed the 'big' version.
I have set up a PPPoE connection and it doesn't connect instantly when I start the router.
My question is that will DD-WRT keep on trying to connect automatically after every few seconds to the PPPoE or do I have to manually connect it using the connect button in 'Status' -> 'WAN'?

Reboot button is at the bottom of Administration > Router Management

UPDATE: Kong 22000+ is looking good with 2+ days of solid uptime.
Changed TX Power to 50 mW (from the default of 40 mW),
which seemed to significantly boost transmit speed.
Just wanted to take a second to show my appreciation for all your help.
Been searching around the site for the last couple evenings and your posts have really helped me make some progress. That said, I am now left with one last hiccup I'm hoping to get worked out.
I went with Kong after seeing that it was working well for you and after getting a little hung up on 21676 mini, listed in the wiki.
Everything seems to work really well. ISP is Cable One (southwest ID) and my advertised speed is 50 down/3 up so I was quite pleased when the new firmware kicked my DL in the rear and practically doubled what I was seeing prior to working on this.
That's the speed I get on my computer. On my iPhone I came out at 26/3.
All in all, I'm pretty pleased with how it's all going but as I said there is a small hiccup.
XBOX One has a little detailed test you can run to check your connection at the box. My XBOX is feet from my computer so I would assume the signal isn't really an issue.
When I run this little test, everything looks great except my DL. It caps at like 3 MB/sec and I don't know why. I've done some searching around and I've tinkered with some of the setting for WMM and QoS, but there just doesn't seem to be much of an explanation for it.
Prior to me starting this whole project I was getting 24 Mbps and now I'm at 3.26 Mbps and it just will not go beyond that.
I've searched around a little thinking maybe it was common but can't seem to find much in the way of definitive answers.
Do you (or anyone else, I would appreciate all input) have any suggestions on what might be cause? I'm at a loss.

JNavas,
As some days have passed now since you flashed the Kong 22000+, can you provide an update?
Are there any significant issues (random reboots, main features not functioning) worth mentioning?
My two E1200v2 (1 x Router/WAP, 1 x WAP) are currently running 21676 Big and I am looking for a way to update (for obvious reasons). The only thing I cannot sacrifice is reliability.
Also, a more generic questions: if a 30/30/30 is performed, can I go straight from 21676 big to Kong? Or is there any transition flash that needs to be considered?
I appreciate any insights you can share!
Kong 22000+ has been solid and fast on the E1200v2 for the 3 days since I installed it.
Looks like it's at least as good as 21676, and arguably better, since it has fixes not in 21676.
I was unable to flash the KingKong build on the WNDR4000, so with the E1200v2 I went straight to
usb-ftp-samba3-dlna-nv64k-broadcom.bin by Web upgrade from 21676 Mini with 30-30-30 reset.
I've loaded the DLNA version of Kong 22000+ on a E1200v2 and I'm unfortunately getting lockups every day. I'm running:
>QoS on one MAC
>Port Forwarding to one IP
>WPA2 with broadcast disabled, Auto Channel
When the router locks up I'm unable to ping 192.168.1.1 from the wired or wireless interface. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot? Should I enable logging? It runs for about 12-16 hours before locking up.
I'm having problems with port forwarding. Whenever I try to add a new port, or range, I just type port info, local ip etc. and check the box enable and click add.
It just adds blank line and creates a second blank line to add extra.
I am on e1200 with DD-WRT v24-sp2 (05/27/13) mega
(SVN revision 21676) . Is that a known bug?

I've gotten it to work on the mini version, forwarding a port to a local IP. Did you include the application name?

1. Why do you have broadcast disabled? That adds no security, just causes problems.
2. Auto Channel is a bad idea. Run a site survey, and use the least congested channel.
3. Try disabling QoS to see if that has any effect on the router becoming unresponsive.
4. When the router becomes unresponsive, are you able to telnet or SSH to it? _________________ Hope that helps,

That has the Heartbleed vulnerability, and should not be used.
Use either 21676 Mini or Kong 22000+ (DLNA or VPN). _________________ Hope that helps,

What about 5/27/2014? Is heartbleed gone? Has anyone tried big or mega in this 24160 build?
Currently running suggested build Stdkong 22000M. It is stable except for QoS which is frustrating. _________________ WRT-54G V6 & V8 - wrt.v24_micro_generic.bin
