Currently I'm on "DD-WRT v24-sp2 (04/07/12) vpn-small - build 18946M NEWD-2 K2.6 Eko" & I have a problem with 'wl radio on' command which I explained completely here:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=263687
but I received no solution. So I thought the problem may go away if I update the firmware to kong.
Thanks.
I updated to Kong 22000++ vpn version (DD-WRT v24-sp2 (06/07/14) vpnkong - build 22000M), but no luck.
I have a Linksys E1200 v2 with the following DD-WRT:
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/25/13) big
(SVN revision 21061)
I am using it for VPN connected via the WAN port to my main router's Ethernet. I have tried L2PT, OpenVPN and PPTP. Both L2TP and OpenVPN work but they do disconnect after a couple of hours. L2TP will reconnect while OpenVPN seems less stable. I am using WiFI clients.
I would like to upgrade to a more stable firmware, if there is one. Is it possible to go from big to say mini? For L2TP or OpenVPN which firmware would be the most stable? I don't need the fastest but a smaller firmware might be better?

I thought I would post my results in case anyone is still having issues or just purchased an e1200.
1) The e1200-NP is an e1200 V2. Apparently Cisco sold off the this line of routers so they are now packaged as 1200-NP. (NP probably stands for new packaging)
Whenever I try flashing the mini version of the E1200 v2(yes I have checked it says v2 on bottom) I always get a "Upgrade Failed" message. Could someone fix that? I've tried it on Windows with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, And Chrome. Also with ubuntu's firefox. This is what it says:
Reset (hole)
Cisco
Serial Number
Not telling you
Mac Address
20AA for v2
(wps pin) 6131-3712
FCC:ID and so on
It's running stable and everything is working fine. No radio issues. I'm running 2 wireless SSIDs bridged with QoS. Everything is working great.
Ok quick question. I don't know which one to download the VPN or the DNLA version. I have some wireless stuff (laptop, phone) and 2 wires connections. I don't need VPN and not sure about DNLA.
I basically just need a standard router for common stuff with the updated firmware.

I upgraded to 18946 then to 21676 and btw...
For people that are having issues upgrading this router v2, you need to first install the 18946 then... upgrade to 21676. Otherwise you will get and upgrade failed message.
When I had 21676 installed and after a 30/30/30 reset my internet download speeds were slow around 6.00mbps. I tried it on b only g only, and n only. I tried mixed, and gn. I tried it with network security enabled and disabled. Then I restored the Linksys firmware. After the restore I was getting 20.00mbps download speeds again. Latency would vary between 16 - 40. What I'm curious about is why it was slow with dd-wrt and much faster with the stock Linksys firmware. Could it be possible that with the Linksys firmware they have somehow optimized or falsified data connection speeds. If not why is there such a big difference?

I just bought the E1200 v2. On the DD-WRT site the latest build available for the router is 21061.
While there is a link 21676 available on the forums.
Can someone please guide me as to what version to flash. Doing this for the first time. Dont want to brick the router.
Is there a DD-WRT build for this router that has the Heartbleed problem fixed?
Hello I installed Kong 22000 into my e1200 The 04/2014 version and my wireless is super slow. I intend to update to the 06/2014 to see if the problem is fixed but is there an optimal setting for ddwrt so my wireless can achive full speed.

Try changing the Wireless Network Mode: Mine is currently set to N/G. If you just have G, try G only. It worked for me.
