Sorry I meant to say with my actiontec I was getting 80Mbps Up and 80Mbps down. When I plugged back in the actiontec it got back to normal 80up/80down. I end up plugging the actiontec back in at least for the next week. I will be traveling for work and will need that high upload speed. In the mean time I will do some reasearch and see if the e1200 that I have is even capable of giving at least 75Mbps upload? which is what I am paying for. What is the recomended dd-wrt firmware for the e1200 v2? I tried Tomato shibby (or whatever its called) and got about 80down and .75Mbps up. So Tomato was worse.
Thanks,

Currently I am running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (04/14/14) vpnkong - build 22000M. I've been running it since the summer and it's been working pretty good but I would like to improve wireless download speeds. Right now I'm able to get 54 MB/s on a wired link to the router but on wireless I"m only getting 10-15 MB/s right next to the device which seems like wireless G speeds not N.
I am on Comcast and have already implemented the DSCP bug fix. Before the fix the on wireless router clients were getting a painfully slow 0.25 MB/s down and similar up and after the fix it started to perform in the 8-15 MB/sec range. So this was a problem for me but I'm still not seeing the wireless download and upload speeds I was expecting from a N router.
(On PC wired to router)
(On wireless)
Also, I've noticed that the kong archives have changed since I set this device up on ddwrt a few months ago. He no longer seems to be hosting builds like vpnkong that I am currently running. So I'm guessing we need to move back to the dd-wrt.com ftp tree.
I'm currently running dd-wrt.v24-25697_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-nv64k.bin, with the exception of QoS causing the router to crash almost instantly, and the GUI not working with firefox, and hangs after settings are applied that require a power cycle to work again, it is otherwise working fine.
OK, so what is generally regarded as the best, most up to date and feature rich distro for this hardware? I don't use the wireless features, but everything else, including VPN.
neither have nv64k in but the only ones I can see with that in are mini big and mega? I didnt think they had hotspot system on them? Already bricked 1 router, dont want to do another!

I just bought an E1200v2 on ebay for $14 including shipping just to have fun with. I am replacing a WRT54GS and using bridge mode only for a wireless signal to a desktop.
The N feature of the E1200 does not help at all since the Uverse signal is G only. There has been no issues so far though with multiple devices connected to the Uverse. I am not a gamer so my download speed of 15mb is just fine.
I will say the E1200 is fast, fast, fast. Webpages load almost instantly. I love it.
I am using build DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/25/13) mega - build 21061 right from the router database version when I search (http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database) which includes multiple hot spot versions. I enable "No Acknowledgement" in advanced settings, set the TX power to 125, and maximum ports to 1200. Not really sure if these settings help but the thing is fast and responsive when I am in the settings.
Thanks much for the DD-WRT team on this firmware. I have had fun with it over the years.
I read the wiki and a couple of forum threads, but I'm still unsure which is recommended stable version for E1200 v2. I would like to install 21676 mini and then upgrade to latest r25974. Are there any known issues with r25974 on E1200 v2 ? Thank you! _________________ Linksys WRT54GL v1.1 ---> DD-WRT 14929

Can someone please let me know which build to use on my new Linksys E1200v2? There doesn't seem to be a consensus here as to which is the most stable and feature filled release.... so it would be great if one of the gurus could help us out.
