I noticed that SSH key changes every time the router is rebooted. Is this a temporary measure?

I'm new to DD-WRT and I just installed today. I used the dd-wrt.v24-18777_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e4200.bin for initial flash then updated to dd-wrt.v24-18946_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-nv60k.bin

Everything went fine, but I'm noticing random disconnects. I was just streaming some video and in Windows 7 it would show no connection briefly then reconnect after about 10 seconds. I don't have anything special enabled except for using DHCP reservations. I setup VPN, but I have since disabled it. It is starting to happen every couple minutes or so now. Hopefully a reboot will solve this.

Actually I'm finding the radio (2.4GHz on e3000 running client bridge) is crapping out every few days and I have to reset. Well, I think it may be just the radio, it just sits there with the radio LED blinking slowly. I'll have to plug in a ethernet cable and see if it's still alive inside.

Hi all, just posted a separate topic for the PPTP vpn on this latest build. It looks like it's still broken like it was on 17990... any idea?

I used GUI to setup a VLAN3 on a jack with a separate subnet and DHCP.
Problem is all traffic blocked from WAN on that jack.

Made it work however with firewall rule:
iptables -I INPUT -i vlan3 -j ACCEPT;
iptables -I FORWARD -i vlan3 -o vlan2 -m state --state NEW -j ACCEPT;

Some previous builds I've tried before on other routers didn't require this firewall rule.

This new router's WAN defaults to VLAN2 instead of VLAN1 like older routers. Maybe this hints to the problem. Also it’s a gigabit router. I read for a while there were VLAN issues with gigabit routers, but newer builds supposedly fixed.

Router: Belkin F7D7301 V1
Broadcom BCM4716 chip rev 1
Switch Chip: BCM53115SKFBG
Build: dd-wrt.v24-18946_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega

Can we remove the build for mini_WNR2000v2.chk? The file size is too large and is known to brick this router. The latest version that I know of, that still works on this router is 15962.

We may want to consider not supporting this router anymore as the current mini is too large and bricks the device.

Updated my E4200 via GUI from v24-18024_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-nv60k and all is working except iptables -m state, see my thread: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=153716

Other than that, all seems to be working as before.

Successfully flashed an E900 using dd-wrt.v24-18946_NEWD-2_K2.6_std_usb_nas-nv64k.bin

However I'm having a problem getting NOCATSPLASH to work. I know I have it set up properly as I've configured nearly 100 E2000's.

The problem is that after connecting to the wireless network upon loading the browser it should redirect to http://192.168.1.1:5280 and load the landing page. However it just hangs. If I manually enter that address into the browser, then I get the landing page and when I click I AGREE, I can browse the web.

Upgraded (dd-wrt.v24-18740_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-nv60k.bin) to (dd-wrt.v24-18946_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-nv60k.bin)
e4200 - primary router/gateway
2.4Ghz (GN) with 20Mhz channel width did - Clients occasionally dropping signal and then reattach
5Ghz (N) with 40Mhz channel width seems OK
Able to connect with SSH, but on reboot forces server key update
Under JFSS2 Support JFSS2 displays - Total / Free Size 8,320.00 KB / -
Under Sys-Info JFSS2 displays JFFS2 - 336.00 KB / 8,320.00 KB
NoCatSplash does not work

Upgraded (dd-wrt.v24-18777_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-nv60k.bin) to (dd-wrt.v24-18946_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-nv60k.bin)
e2000 - hard wired from e4200
WDS to e3000 using 5Ghz (N) with 40Mhz channel width
Seems OK

e3000 - WDS on 5 Ghz (N) with 40Mhz channel width
2.4 (GN) with 20Mhz channel width - Clients occasionally dropping signal and then reattach
Seems OK

After my success getting build 18946 (mega) working on a new E1550 for use at a new retail store we're opening (I use DD-WRT w/ OpenVPN to mesh all of the stores and central office together), I decided to grab another of these routers to replace my wireless client bridge at home.

I opted for the E2500 (knowing I could only use the 2.4Ghz radio for now), to replace my aging WRT54G v6 (running DD-WRT micro). Here are the stats and benchmarks for those interested in the performance difference:

* With the WRT54G v6, it was connected and bridging my WPA2-AES network with an SNR of about -69. Radio was set to 150mw.
* Bandwidth tests would almost always result in ~3Mbit down, ~5Mbit up. Connectivity would also go in and out. Pretty pathetic, and difficult to stream Netflix, Logitech Revue video chat, Xbox Live, etc.

* With the E2500 in the exact same location, it is connected and bridging my WPA2-AES network with an SNR of about -69, same as the WRT54G v6. Radio power is DD-WRT default (I haven't touched any advanced wireless settings except setting both send/receive antennas to "auto").
* Bandwidth tests throughout the day have consistently been 25-35Mbit down, 20-30Mbit up, and so far after 3 days is stable. WOW! I was hoping for a 2-3x improvement, but I ended up with about 10x. Suddenly all of the bridged devices in my living room work reliably!

Many thanks guys, great work! Now I'm just hoping for a firmware update to enable the 5Ghz radio, so I can configure that in access point mode and bridge it to the 2.4Ghz radio. That way I can get 5Ghz signal flooding my living room, since our couple laptops (also 802.11ABGN) seem to have crappy antennas and constantly drop connectivity to the primary router (a Netgear WNDR3700 v2 running OpenWRT).

I thought it was just my radio too....my E3000 does the same thing...ever couple days it stops broadcasting...and is no longer connected to my host (I'm using mine as a Repeater Bridge)...however....If I wait a while...it will start broadcasting again...both the physical and virtual connections.

I thought it was just my unit...but it might be a broader problem then that...and its ONLY with my E3000 unit.

Same here. It slows down to 5.5, then stops then restarts. Only the E3000, not my E900. Not a problem on the 16994 or 15962 builds.

E4200

I think maybe on Wireless tab "WL0-Advanced" and "WL1-Advanced" are mixed up.

My WL0 is 2.4Mhz, and in "WL0-Advanced" "MIMO Transmission Fixed rate" displays values (up to 300Mbps)

WL1 is the N device. In my opinion MIMO should display up to 450Mbs.
On "WL1-Advanced" tab MIMO is empty.

Can somebody confirm if I am correct?

Not the same here. My WLO tab tops out at 144Mbps and my WL1 tab tops out at 450Mbps.
