I have a buffalo whr-600d that I want to flash back to factory firmware.
I opened it up and hooked my serial cable on it.
I use the tftpboot command and try to upload the original firmware but I keep getting a timeout message.
I set the arp using the MAC address on the bottom of the unit.
I also see this line "loading: got arp reply, set server/gtwy eth address (00:16:ec:fb:1c:fe) got it"

So I set the arp using that number also but still getting a timeout.

Here is the printenv log

U-Boot 1.1.3 (Mar 22 2013 - 22:31:55)
MT7620 # printenv
bootcmd=tftp
bootdelay=1
baudrate=57600
ethaddr="00:AA:BB:CC:DD:10"
inspection=0
bootfile=firmware_WHR-600D.ram
autostart=yes
ipaddr=192.168.11.1
serverip=192.168.11.168
bootloader_ver=3.00
stdin=serial
stdout=serial
stderr=serial
pushaoss=0

Ive used that ethaddr also to set the arp and i set the static ip at 192.168.11.168, 255.155.155.0, 192.168.11.1

I've also used 192.168.11.2, 255.255.255.0, 192.168.11.1

Hi,

old post, not sure you need help anymore, but anyway.

The router does not implement a TFTP server, therefore trying to tftp to it will be unsuccessful.
However the addresses (default) you give are correct:

- router is 192.168.11.1
- PC wired network should be 192.168.11.168

Doing any of the operations with TFTP requires to set a TFTP server on the PC that listens to that address (...168). Copy the file into the tftp server directory, and repeat the operation on the router. That should work.

Same for the Buffalo WMR-300.
