Flashed 24160 with linksys classic firmware, after several automatic reboot, when I go in to http://192.168.1.1 , I get the same Linksys stock firmware. Nothing happens, and also nothing changes.

What is wrong with my EA2700?

My Second Question is: it is necessary and imperative to reflash an ea2700 that has allready ddwrt running? In the idea that install ddwrt build on the first partition of nvram (the second partition has ddwrt on it) and remove the linksys firmware for good???

In my case it was enough to set proper commands on start, as you already did. I use ea2700 as main (and the only) router in a few month and all is ok. It survived a couple of power losses and firmware updates without hard reset.

Hy,i do it like that:
after i flashed ddwrt and returned linksys.
1.hard resset 30-30-30
2.reflash linksys clasic
3.hard resset 30-30-30
4.Flash last smartwifi firmware
5.hard resset 30-30-30
6.Reflash clasic again
7.hard resset 30-30-30
8.flash ddwrt
9.at the user and passwor screen anter the user and passowrd u like, relogin to confirm the firmware memorize ur user and passowrd and to confirm last stage(hard resset 30-30-30)
10.hard resset 30-30-30 and confirm u resset the router by inserting again the user and passowr u like.
The hole process needs to be done without any wifi connedted, without wan or internet connected, u will only connect the pc with wich u flash the firmware.

Today i discovered a problem, my speed from the internet is 150Mbps. When the linksys router is connected to the isp cable modem and my pc to router like normaly, my speed degrade to 60Mbps. i've connect directly the pc to the modem and the speed was 154Mbps.
I've resset the router and try a speed test without any modification, with and without user and pss changed and still the speed was 60 Mbps. What i can do, what i can change to rise the speed up to 150 Mbps?? I am paying for 150 Mbps and only use 60. Evil or Very Mad QoS is off

Hi, build 24160 worked fine for me on my EA2700.

I'm new to dd-wrt (never used before) and linksys routers, so here are some explanation and notes i think usefull to start with dd-wrt on EA2700.

Here, this is what i did starting with the linksys smartwifi factory firmware :
1) soft default reset (15s)
2) flash linksys classic
http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?vw=1&articleid=25856
http://downloads.linksys.com/downloads/firmware/FW_EA2700_1.0.14.129982.zip
3) hard reset 30/30/30
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Hard_reset_or_30/30/30
4) flash linksys classic (even if it is already there)
5) hard reset 30/30/30
6) flash BrainSlayer image (build 24160)
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=261499&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2014/05-27-2014-r24160/linksys-ea2700/
7) After the first dd-wrt boot, set the boot options in GUI (Administration -> commands -> save startup)
nvram set partialboots=0
nvram commit
8 ) hard reset 30/30/30
9) set again the boot options wich ha been erased by the hard reset 30/30/30 (Administration -> commands -> save startup)
10) Configure dd-wrt like i want

Some notes and known problems :
- Without the falshing twice linksys classic (step 1 to 5), my EA2700 get back to stock after 3 reboots after flashing dd-wrt (step 6)
- Without setting the boot options on step 7 and 9 my EA2700 get back to stock after reboot (seem like there will be no patch Sad http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/3270)
- 5Ghz radio is not detected, only 2.4Ghz is in the GUI (5Ghz radio is not supported but hope for usb drivers http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=824484#824484)
- Check Nvram use, between 25kb and 28kb (< 32kb so i guess its ok)
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=883001#883001
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=901523#901523
- dd-wrt shows giga build
- QoS used for 2 days and works like a charm! Smile

Thanks BrainSlayer, Fractal, LOM , _Robb_ and others for Serial Dump / reverse / giving us these firmwares
Thanks nolimitz and tehpensfan for the clear flash and known problems explanation for newbies and everybody at dd-wrt
Continue this good job!

this build has a problem with large isp bandwith??? i have 150mbps and i can utilize only 60mbps with cable(cat5e)or wifi(300mbps). Does anyone have an ideea why the router or probably the build is preventing me to utilize maximum badwith provide by the isp??? I am not using QoS!

Give that man a cookie!

Though i am facing few problems:
1. I can't setup internet, my PC says dns not responding, my modem can see ea2700 router. I am using automatic configuration in ea2700 (to get info from modem about ip and stuff automaticly).
My modem ip is 192.168.1.254. I chosed on ea2700 : 192.168.1.113 to be router ip. And IP adreses range of DHCP client to start from 192.168.1.114.
When i am trying to set ip of ea2700 to something like 10.101.5.206 . I can't even connect to it after reboting ( so i do 30/30/30 to restore defaults ).
And i can't change ea2700 dhcp adress from 192.168.1 (to something else like 10.101.5.)
Static IP setting not working aswell.
2. Router makes squeaking sounds Shocked from time to time. (it was not like that on stock firmware, though when i am doing 30/30/30 i hear them sometimes )

Can someone help me ?

I also have a modem/router with an ip address of 192.168.1.254/24 so the dd-wrt default ip address of 192.168.1.1/24 needs to be changed so there isn't overlap. What you've done above is created a situation that can't work due to the overlap.

I recommend changing only the 3rd octet so instead of 192.168.1.1 try 192.168.2.1
You can leave the dhcp pool at its default.

My tiny bandwith is 7Mb/s and i don't get any problem. QoS is on. It is not really logical but maybe you should try it :/

Elbard wrote:

I don't understand all your stuff but like tehpensfan here is my configuration :

Internet <--> [X.X.X.X] ISP Modem [192.168.1.1/24 + DHCP Server] <--> [192.168.1.2/24 by DHCP Client static MAC reservation] EA2700 [192.168.69.254/24 + DHCP Server] <--> SWITCH

On the interface here is what i did :
Setup -> WAN Setup -> WAN Connection Type -> Automatic Configuration (DHCP)
Setup -> Network Setup -> Local IP Address -> 192.168.69.254

Then to access the router you have to be on the same subnet (192.168.69.0/24 for me). But your problem seems to be linked to DNS requests so start with a blank DNS configuration and let your modem give you the servers IPs.
If it works you can try to change it by the ones you want to use.

Mine too but only when i am doing a hard reset 30/30/30. And it made it since i get it even with the stock firmware.

The latest update was a nasty one. For some reason the wireless radio wouldn't turn on so I had to go back to 24160. Just a note for those of you upgrading.

I'm trying to use dd-wrt on the router. But, I've run into a problem.

Everytime I try to set up pppoe information, and then hit save and then hit apply, it puts the router in a boot loop. It does seem to work fine if I do it on the modem instead and use dhcp, but I much rather do it through the router if I can.

Has anyone else run into this problem or found a fix? I've tried flushing the nvram and all that. I think it might be because I'm going over the 28kb limit after hitting apply?

for anyone having issues with EA2700 and realtek ethernet adapters, finally solved it.

you need to go to your adapters properties then advanced and change energy efficient ethernet to disabled.

i have to realtek on win7:

-100mbps fast ethernet that was only working at 10mbps (now at 100mbps)

-GBe that was not working with EA2700 and now connects fine at 1Gbps
