@LOM thanks so much for the instructions, it works!
One question, I saw a more updated DDWRT firmware for x3420 in corresponding thread, that would mean an upgrade above r19342 also for x3230?
Thanks again!
Wow: Thank you!
I have now DD-WRT on my mr3220!!
I flashed this super-firmware because I need a Wireless Ethernet bridge.. But I have the LAN isolation problem (I want to connect my PC and my NAS on the same DD-WRT powered router).
Is there any new firmware?
Can I use mr3420 firmware?
If I want to use my 3G USB modem do I need to activate USB service? ..It allows me to connect a printer or a usb storage device.. No words on 3G modems..

I can confirm that 3G modems do work on the MR3220. I'm using a Huawei E353 and am getting a very stable connection. I'm very impressed! The original firmware on the MR3220 wasn't as stable as what I'm getting with dd-wrt.
You don't go into the USB section to pick 3G modem. Pick the 3G modem option in the WAN configuration drop down list and fill in your ISPs info.
I'm tempted to try using Squid proxy with this as well, although I'm not sure if the router will be happy running both a 3G modem and an external hdd via the same USB port. I'll report back. Keep up the good work guys!
Hello, has anyone tried most updated firmware? File there is named for other router model so I'm not sure to try it yet
Well just to comment that I tried this mr3420 firmware of 24/07/2013 and everything is working Ok so far. I hope that those unfrequent wifi signals drops stop now
Dear MR3220 DD-WRT users!
Please report your MACs as Sys Info page shows them.
My TP-Link MR3220 v1.2 with DD-WRT r23838:
Code:
LAN MAC 90:F6:52:72:70:D0
WAN MAC 90:F6:52:72:70:D0
Wireless MAC 90:F6:52:72:70:D0
with DD-WRT r21676:
Code:
LAN MAC 90:F6:52:72:70:D1
WAN MAC 90:F6:52:72:70:D0
Wireless MAC 90:F6:52:72:70:D0
I do believe only LAN/Wireless MAC can be the same (bridged), like in my 1043ND at home with OpenWRT. Or if DD-WRT doesn't put ath0 in bridge with LAN all MACs should be different. Am i wrong? Please check your routers.

HI There, sorry this is an old thread.
Just wanted to check if the MR3220 and the TL-MR3220 is the same thing.
I can't find info anywhere and I have been offered the TL-MR3220, just want to make sure I can install dd-wrt.
Thanks
Yes, MR3220 and TL-MR3220 are the same routers. However, make sure you pay attention to which version it is. I have flashed DD-WRT onmine and it is MR3220-V-1.2. I was successfully able to flash DD-WRT 03-05-2020-r42617 on it. Any thing with higher number bricks the router and it enters infinite loop mode. I had to use serial method to un-brick it. Hope this helps.
First time I used 12-31-2020-r45219 and it ended up bricking my router. Then I tried the fail-safe procedure on the router but nothing worked. Then I opened it up and hooked up serial interface. After that I flashed with many versions but only 03-05-2020-r42617 and below worked.

Navi
P.S. I also tried 10-05-2022-r50357, this is the latest one but it also bricked the router.
