EDIT (26-5-2012): Please jump to the last post...

Long story short, I telnetted into my router and did this: "erase config". After that all hell broke loose.

Now I can, with 100% success, tftp both User-Friendly and Pro (dd-wrt) firmware into my whr-hp-g300n.

However, after it finishes updating and restarting, I get the normal 10 seconds of solid red Diag light and then a continuous Diag double blinking.

And that Diag double blinking never stops. So it just keep going.

BOARD IS NOT CALIBRATED!!!

You have erased the board_config (caldata) partition in flash, your router will remain a brick until you can write back that partition.
You'll need some good luck in finding another user who is able to dump the partition out of his router, best place to ask is probably over at OpenWRT.

I Now have a working "board_config". Its size is 65536 bytes.

But I have some questions:

1- How can I trasfer it to my router? I can login to my router ONLY via serial. I also can TFTP.

2- How can I write that partition into my router?

Code:

Hey guys.

Sorry to kinda steal your post, but I have the same exact router, and a very simple question.

It is stock out of the box. how can I tell if the User-friendly or pro software i loaded?

Also, do custom dd-wrt versions work on this model that my have more features?

Again sorry to steal the post.

OK I figured out, I have the pro version. Made post 2010 so it ships with dd-wrt stock which is considered 'pro'

I still wonder if there are custom firmwares that I can use with this model.

I am still searching the websites and google looking for answers, but if someone knows and would like to reply, it would be greatly appreciated.

I've managed to replace board_config in mtd5 with a functioning one.
The router remains to be bricked though.
I still see the diag double blinking, and to go into DD-WRT I have to run "boot" from u-boot.
The wireless used to be missing and it continues to be missing.
The only good news I got from replacing board_config is that I can now actually connect to DD-WRT using the Ethernet (after running boot inside u-boot).

Code:
