Hi all. I've been doing a lot of reading and troubleshooting over the last few days but could do with a little help.

Wired Network Downstairs:
ADSL Modem D-Link DSL 2640R -> Asus RT-N13U(v24 sp2)

Wired Network Upstairs:
Asus RT-N13u(v24 sp2) -> PC Tower LAN port
Same RT-N13u -> USB Printer

Wireless is disabled on the 2640R DSL modem

Goals:
1. Internet Access
2. Printing across network

Status:
Following the guide, the the downstairs n13u now provides internet access to eg laptop via ethernet or wireless Smile

Following the other guide, and using the example for getting wds to work on broadcom devices (ralink steps are not there), I cant get the two n13u's to join each other in WDS.

ADSL modem/router is 192.168.0.1
Downstairs N13u is 192.168.0.2
Upstairs N13u is 192.168.0.3

I've tried setting various modes eg AP/Repeater/Router either in software or by using the hardware switch on the bottom of the routers.

I've entered opposing mac addresses etc into WDS LAN settings and everything else in the linked guides but I'm just not able to get the two wifi routers linked.

DHCP is turned off on both and fixed IP addresses are used. The ADSL modem/router is handing out IPs to anything else that connects.

Seems like a fairly simple setup but I'm obviously missing something.

Tried setting a channel and using 20mhz rather than going automatic but that doesnt work either.

Edit:- Is there a prerequisite to have DHCP enabled on the 1st N13u? At the moment, addresses are being served by the ADSL modem/router upstream.

Great forum. The others have got it all wrong. Helping people to learn is bad. I see that now.
