i know, i was joking...anyway
i meant for some kind of only N devices allowed on the network as a kind of restriction policy...
in the past i used N only with my old DIR 615 and was working well for my laptop's with N cards.. anyway... _________________ Atheros

i confirm that, NG mixed at 40HT with AES WPA2, and channel
1,6,or 11 are giving best results so far....

yep you can connect Atheros client to Atheros router on N speed only, as long as your cards supports N standard...
That's why for better compatibility among the devices is recommended to use NG mixed .... |
My AR9485 would like to disagree with you, the behaviour is that it tries to connect, i can see the adapter resetting itself three times before failing.
It works fine with ubiquiti unifi N only devices. |

It's all about communication, even for talented programmers (I really apreciate their effort by the way!) therefore in the help it should be explained why n/g isn't that bad and that N only is in alpha stage.
However I would prefer to remove N only, until it works.
Until I found your statement I thought, it's a fault of the w-lan module. Obviously I'm not the only one. I guess a lot of users wonder, what to select: N only or n/g mixed and spend a lot of time in identifying the root cause when selecting N only. |
