FTP crashes on large files - build 18777 - WZR-HP-AG300H

I attached a EXT3 formated USB drive (2.5 hardisk to the USB port and enabled FTP.

So far everything works fine, but when transferring large files ia 5GHZ wifi, the router crashes. Interestingly, SHH transfers have the same issue and are also a lot slower (2 MBits).

FTP transfers, start and become very fast (7 MBits), but then as already mentioned the system crashes and wifi disconnects and I have to reboot the router.

Any suggestions? experiences?

Update:

- Router also crashes on SSH.
- Tried another drive, this time a FAT formatted USB stick and experienced exactly the same problem
- Reformatted the drive to EXT-2. Problem still persists.
