Just installed dd-wrt on my Belkin F7D8301 v1 (dd-wrt v24-sp2 (03/25/13) mini).
Trying to get wireless to work properly, or maybe my expectations are wrong. Have cable modem hooked up to router. A wired connection via speedtest says 50mbps down/10mbps upload, which maxes my comcast connection as advertised (Blast).
Wireless, however, is maxing out download at 26mbps/10mbps upload.
Looking at the wifi properties/status, it says the Rate is 300mbps. So why am I only getting 25? Shouldn't I be getting 50 over N?
Of course theres others around.. but yes I've used inSSIDer to find good channels.
I had the laptop getting 40mbps/10mbps, but now its back to 26mbps/10mbps again and I didn't change anything. Wireless is driving me nuts.. its so inconsistent but I have to believe that I have settings wrong somewhere.
Any experts/ideas?
Have even tried disabling radio 0, setting radio1 to N-Only 5ghz
If over 2.4Ghz then it might just be congestion in the area. inSSIDer will only show you other wifi access points. It wont show you Bluetooth, baby monitors, wireless mouse/keyboards/cameras/garage door openers, door bells, speakers, none connected devices but that are scanning, etc, etc. There's plenty more in 2.4Ghz than just wifi.
If over 5Ghz then check if ANY QoS settings are on that might only affect wireless devices?
