Hi all,
I currently have a standard DSL wireless router (Home Hub) from BT. The issue I have is that the main telephone outlet hub is in the laundry room which I cannot run Cat 6 to.
I therefore plan on purchasing either a Netgear WNDR3700 or Asus RT-N16 for use with DD-WRT to act as a wireless bridge. I will then run Cat6 from the wireless bridge to the 3 PCs I need interconnected as well as the wireless devices. I stream data off a server to the PCs.
The question I have is, in this configuration, will all wireless traffic flow through both routers? i.e. If I am transferring data from a PC on the LAN to a laptop connected via wifi, will the data go PC -> wireless bridge -> BT Home Hub -> laptop or PC -> wireless bridge -> laptop? Ideally I would only like the Home Hub to provide internet access to the wireless bridge, and let the bridge handle everything else.

the wireless bridge (client bridge) is only going to communicate with the host AP via radio. Your wireless clients will not be able to connect to the client bridges radio. _________________ [Moderator Deleted]

Are you suggesting clients conneted to the client bridge will not be able to communicate with any wireless clients? Not quite sure I follow the significance of this.

a client bridge is nothing more than a wireless nic that you wire clients to. It is not an AP. Review your 1st post and the question you asked.
Data will go:
wired client wired to the bridge -> client bridge -> main ap via wireless -> wireless clients associated with main ap.
if you have more than one client wired to the bridge, that data will pass directly through the bridges switch from wired client to wired client. _________________ [Moderator Deleted]
