I recently upgraded the E3000 router to use the dd-wrt firmware (build 16785 big version). When the PC is connected to E3000 via an ethernet cable, the internet times out. But I can access the admin page and fiddle with the settings (wireless is off).

And when I connect to the default wireless network (dd-wrt), I get working internet.

When I enable wired connection, internet is not accessible for some reason. When I browse to the Status page, I see that the WAN has automatic DHCP enabled and it is able to retrieve the modem's IP address.

I have tried doing a 30/30/30 and soft reset. I also tried power cycling the modem and the router.

Since I can access the admin page, but not internet, via the ethernet cable, I assume this is a configuration or software issue, and not a hardware one.

How can I fix this issue so that the wired connections are working? Question

Your problem is more likely on your computer rather than your router. Try a different cable, and a different computer. Make sure you are in the LAN port, not the WAN port.

Thank you. It was the computer. The router works fine with another PC
