I am finding that all my ports that are forwarded, are not really forwarded anymore.

Even if I make my PC the DMZ zone ip address, nothing gets through.

I am also testing this with an open port checker:

I did upgrade and then downgrade the firmware recently - in a different thread.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Well,

I removed one dd-wrt firewall command because I didn't know what it did and it had a "drop" at the end of the line. In hindsight I should have written it down or saved it.

After reboot all ports are forwarding except port 80 for my apache web server. I think this is because I recently installed the free 3CX VOIP/SIP PBX software and it includes its own web server to allow monitoring and settings changes via a web browser.

Now, all I need is to buy the $70 Linksys SPA3102 and I'll be able to arrange for my smart phone to ring whenever my home POTS phone rings, answer the phone, and also make phone calls. (I'm not certain I really need this capability).

An alternative is to pay $3/month to Skype for making outgoing calls, and $60/year for a phone number. That's $96 a year to make and receive phone calls from an tablet or smart phone - apart from the cell phone minutes.

Then there is google voice which has a free telephone number and free unlimited domestic calling. But it is only free through 2012.

With 3CX, everything is free (for personal use) and I am not dependent on any internet companies servers or resources.

I don't need any of this. I never use up my cell phone minutes. Skype, google-voice, and 3cx are just things I am playing with. Might be cool to be able to answer my home POTS phone from the road - maybe I'll buy that Linksys box next month.

Anyway, the port forwarding seems to be working again (except for Apache-80).

Regards,

Howard

The only way to get 3CX VOIP PBX to work from the WAN side (with the 3CX sip phone app on a smart phone) is to use their tunneling option. I suspect Comcast is blocking the normal VOIP/SIP ports. At least the 3CX tunneling port works through Comcast and the router.
