I have a good price list for tp-link routers. If we all are interested I may create chip in donation so that everybody may contribute. When the goal is reached I will buy the device(s) we have enough money for and I will send it to BrainSlayer for support development.
Hi checo,
I will be in with 20USD. Where do you want to order it?
I live in the US and just ordered one for 80 USD here: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/872575-REG/TP_Link_TL_WDR4300_N750_Wireless_Dual_Band.html . I'm also travelling frequently between the US and Germany and will be in Germany in 3 weeks. I could also buy the device and we would save approx 20 USD (or consider my donation to be 40USD then .
what do you think?

That's cool, but I simply can't give you all the money that I get via that chip in.
People who participated and who gave me their penny did it in good faith that I will acquire that device and I will send it to Germany. They trust me for the job and I cannot simply take the money and give it to some other person because they found it $25 cheaper in another continent. I don't say you will not do the job but I have left my name on the task and I have publicly promised exactly what I would do with that money. The only one who will receive the money would be local TP-LINK dealer and it would not be even some reseller who may earn profit. Please understand me. That money is not mine and people who shared it did that with some particular cause donating me their trust.
We have a nice progress to now. Keep up the good work guys
If there has been enough money raised to buy the router after 2 weeks then make an agreement that faroukh buys the router in U.S and delivers it when he is in Germany.
checho refunds faroukh via paypal when NewMedia-NET acknowledges the receipt of the router.
U.S prices are always the lowest but the freight cost to Europe (and the custom declaration hazzle and fees) usually doesn't make it worth buying and shipping from U.S to EU
The $25 saved could be the difference between being able to donate a router or not being able. _________________ Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!
Got my 4300 yesterday and we definitively need dd-wrt. I need static dhcp with "hostname" and the official firmware provides only mac-ip. Not so convenient when you have >20 wlan devices..
I donated 5 dollars for the wdr4300..Just throwing this out there though, you know newegg has the wdr4300 for 89 bucks right?
I just ordered one from there.
