I have 4 of the following:
--Netgear WNR3500v2/U/L
with...
--Firmware Version DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/12/10) mega - build 14929

One will have a WAN to the net while the others are repeater bridges, all will serve wired and wireless clients.

I have followed the instructions in the WIKI for configuring Repeater Bridging and noted the statement that there is a potential issue having each router use the same SSID for wireless clients.

This is my desire to have a single SSID for wireless clients and not 4 separate ones in my home. How can this be achieved and what if any recommendations do you have for my wired/wireless architecture?

Is it possible to have a wireless SSID that the routers use to bridge and another common SSID that is used throughout the home that they route? If so, would this be a good approach?

From Wiki:
Code:
"SSIDs
Under "Wireless -> Basic Settings", you must use only the primary router's SSID for the physical interface to connect wireless clients and not create a new SSID for the virtual interface. -tstrike38 (see Repeating Mode Comparisons)"

So it seems to me that you MUST follow your desire Wink

Did you try out the setup?

If you do not have connection troubles and no speed issues, then you are good to go.

Set it up as a WDS network...then you can use all the same SSID and the handoff from one to the other will be seamless.
