Thanks for all your efforts! This would be great news when you can get it working.

I have been eagerly following this thread. How are things going BrainSlayer?

While my situation is different, this thread seems closest to my end goal. Eventually I would love to attach a large (4GB) disk to my D-Link DIR-632 (Atheros based) for use as a NAS. I understand this is the Broadcom forum, but any news of large volume progress is good news as far as I see it.

I updated to build 21676 and managed to mount a 4GB NTFS volume, but got terrible Samba crashes and read/write issues. Still can't mount ext3 though.

they are saying that they got this working. it requires you to load the latest build with the 3.x kernel for your router.

ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2013/05-27-2013-r21676/broadcom_K3X-EXPERIMENTAL/

i haven;t been able to test it yet myself.

I have been following this thread and others to find a way to get 3TB drive mounted on my RT-N16. Right now, I have it mounted as FAT32 which works fine, but does not allow files over 4GB. Trying EXT2 or EXT3 or NTFS fails. I am reluctant to try the new experimental 3.X builds because there seems to be too many issues and unknowns at this point (this is my main router).

Any other thoughts on getting a stable build that has 3TB drive support with large files? I prefer to keep my OTRW2 (which I think 3.X loses), but will accept losing that if necessary for a stable build.

i think it;s pretty safe to say that you will NEVER be able to mount a drive greater than 2 TB on a 2.6 kernel version of DD-WRT and be usable the way you need it. Seems like it;s a waste of time. Your solution is to go to a 3.x kernel version.

We got the 3.x version of 22118 working on the Asus RT-N16. There is several threads with the details because with the RT-N16, we had to go through an additional step. atleast 3-4 of us have been successful.

I haven;t been able to test a drive greater than 2 TB yet but I jave had my router running for over 6 weeks now on the 3.x version so it;s been pretty stable for me. another added benefit-the NVRAM is bumped up to 64K.

Looks like this thread has been pretty dead lately, but I'd like to know if gpt support ever made it in. I have an Atheros unit (DIR-632 with build 23720) and my 4TB drive doesn't work. It returns the following:

Code:
--- /dev/sda
Block device, size 3.639 TiB (4000787025920 bytes)

Any ideas?

As others told you, it won't work with a K26 build, if you can use a K3.x it might work, but even then you have to find the right build.

slobodan-

Kernel version reports 3.5.7.32 #7608. And it looks like there's only a single build for my router. A lot of the Atheros builds come in only single flavors, it seems.

Sorry if this is out of place or ignorant. It seems that K2.4 is not compatible with larger disks, but apart from dire warnings not to use K2.6 with my router (WRT350n V1), I haven't found anything about using later kernels. Is there a new reasonably stable release that supports 4TB drives of any stripe---I'm flexible, and works on a WRT350n? Does anyone with a WRT350n have a 4TB disk + samba + VPN working well? Thanks.
