So my rt-n10+ b1 arrived, and i immediately flashed it.
dd-wrt v24-sp2 (02/11/13) build 20675 installed without a hitch. loving it so far. its unfortunate that the antenna is fixed, but for $25, i cant complain.

People have upgraded the antenna:

Or you could upgrade to an ASUS RT-N12 for $30.

I can get neither repeater not repeater bridge to work in build 20548. It works fine as a wireless client, but when I switch to repeater it won't connect with the host. Have followed all the instructions for configuring repeater, so at this point I'm blaming the build.

Same problem with build 20675. Looks like maybe it was fixed in 20790 (http://svn.dd-wrt.com:8000/timeline), but that hasn't come to the RT-N10+ yet. So for repeater, will have to revert to build 16454.

No success with build 16454 either :(

Anyone using a repeater on the RT-N10+, please share your secrets.

I have two N10+ ver B1 operating in repeater bridge mode. One is on 20675 and the other on 16785.

These are connected to a RT-N16 in N-only, 20mhz mode. In 20/40 mode they were flaky.

I followed the repeater bridge instructions. One mistake I made was to also connect the routers with WDS, and that was screwy. Once I disabled WDS everything came together. I could not get the N10+ routers to link to the N16 with the stock firmware.

Somewhat ironic, as what I really wanted was client bridge mode and that doesn't seem available with this router.

Can you tell me the build for your N10+ and the exact settings on your wireless basic and security pages? I'm trying to use the straight repeater mode, not repeater bridge.

Well, the wireless client mode in build 16454 was flaky: after a couple of days it would lose connection to the host (a Linksys 2500 with stock firmware) and I’d have to reset the dd-WRT router to make it work again. It turns out that setting Wireless Network Mode to mixed was the culprit: if I set it to BG-mixed it will work (even though the host is set to BGN). I wonder if it has something to do with the channel width (build won't let me select 40 MHz), but even if I limit the host to 20 MHz, it still doesn't work. Haven't explored this with later builds.

The repeater mode still does not work at all.

First a little background...

The basement apartment I rent includes UVerse (my landlady's account). Since it's her account, I can't really make any alterations to the 2Wire gateway modem that comes with the service. Being a 2Wire, the wi-fi periodically goes out, or otherwise gives me difficulty. I decided to hang a WAP off of one of the LAN ports to give me better service. I used an AirLink 101 AR430W flashed with DD-WRT, paired with an identical router on the other end configured as a wireless bridge to give the desktop, printer, etc. back in my office access to the network.

Now I want to upgrade to wireless-N, so I bought a couple of Asus RT-N10+ routers to replace the two Airlinks. I have the WAP working properly with build 16785, but my problem is in trying to set up the other end (also build 16785). I have read that the RT-N10+ doesn't support a straight-up wireless bridge, but a repeater bridge instead.

Should the repeater bridge still be able to see and connect with my WAP? I've followed the setup instructions on this and other threads, but am missing something, apparently. What info can I supply to help diagnose the problem?

Thanks in advance,

Bill

Update: I solved my problem in a brute-force manner--I returned the RT-NT10+ routers and got two Rosewill RNX-N150RTs instead. I flashed them with DD-WRT, of course. Setup was a snap, and everything is both hunky and dory.

Well then, it appears that some people have the same router. I decided to come back and look to see if anyone had answered this thread, and it seems to have taken off a little.

Has anyone here made further progress on which build/version to use to get this router working with DD-WRT? I need to use it as a wireless bridge to connect to my WRT300N, so info on that would be great.

I am using this version with no known issues

DD-WRT v24-sp2 (04/01/13) std
(SVN revision 21153)

I'm not using it as a bridge so I can't speak to that

Could you tell me if that option is available? If so what options for it are there?

A screenshot would be great if you could.

What features do you need to use?

Can people share their experience with build 21061? What features work/don't work?

Build 21061 has been working just fine for me. I'm using it in Repeater Bridge mode and haven't had any problems with it after about a week now.
