It is apparent that my current Linksys WRT54GL Ver 1.1 (Broadcom 5352)with dd-wrt may not have the proper firmware to link with my OEM RE-1000 or even a WRE54G/dd-wrt range expander. Could someone please confirm what I believe to be the correct firmware for my primary router WRT54GL?
Current Specs: WRT54GL with v24 05/24/08 std build 9526 w|0 corerev = 9
Proposed build to replace above: BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2010/08-12-10-r14929/broadcom/
This is listed as: dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin 3664KB 8/12/2010 12:00:00 AM on the file list under 14929 builds.
I selected the replacement std build over the mini- or micro- builds since it appears most compatible with my current (a likely out of date) std firmware build.
My current primary router without the extender works fine but I wish to expand the range. My alternative is to replace the WRT54GL completely and I'm prepared to do it but the challenge of making the present router work with an extender is irresistably enticing for me!
Can someone please confirm that I'm on the right track and the proposed 14929 build I've listed is correct for my purposes?
It will be fine. You could also consider 12548. _________________ SIG:
