Hi guys,
Got a new router and it seems to be compatible with DD-WRT. I tried to install it with no luck: I just cannot tftp the bin to the router. Could someone help me fix this issue?
What I've done:
1) Reset the router to factory default from the web interface
2) With tftp2.exe, loaded the bin from the dd-wrt site (it's the right one, the first time upgrade for my exact router), no password, 99 retries
3) unplugged the power adapter from the router
4) plugged it again and started the tftp transfer immediately
The router starts while tftp2 retries many times to flash. After a brief time, the router begins to respond to pings, but tftp2 is still retrying to do it's job.
Probably I'm doing something wrong... but what?
PS
I also tried the windows tftp client... right at router boot... at first ping... nothing.
I guess you´ve been trying to flash it with wbmr-hp-g300h-webupgrade.bin?
You should do first flash with BUFFALO_TO_DD-WRT_wbmr-hp-g300h-firmware.bin and after that you can use webupgrade packages.
I flashed my WBMR without any problems via Buffalo-GUI so no need for the tftp...
DSL performance are horrible. Line keeps falling, packets get lost, a real nightmare.
I suspect the line isn't perfect lately:
1) I had a speedtouch st585 that was resetting all the time and so decided to buy the Buffalo. Maybe the old router was resetting because of line problems...
2) with the stock firmware, the Buffalo looked stable... I noticed some line drops but not too often
3) with dd-wrt I'm having seriuous problems in the last 2 days. It could be the line doing worse, maybe, or just the dd-wrt doing worse than the stock fw
Now I'm having 9/6 up/down (max 10/6) as dsl signal... how are these values?
PS
Any way to revert to stock firmware? Just in case...
UPDATE:
It was an ISP problem. Now it's working ok.
sorry to insist on this one, but i'm about to flash my router...any chance someone can clarify the 3 files just to make sure i don't do anything silly.
With the original firmware from Buffalo the firmware named "buffalo_to_dd-wrt_MULTI.enc" has to be used ("enc" for encrypted, I guess). After that, in case you want to upgrade to a newer revision, the file named "wbmr_g300nh-webflash-firmware.bin" from a newer revision has to be used.
In both cases, use the web-gui to flash the new firmware.

I have installed the DD-WRT firmware on my WBMR-HP-G300H but have difficulties to configure the ADSL-modem. How did you do that?
