Hi LOM,

It seems there's a new model, called WRN 240i

This firmware is the most current that can be downloaded from the site, and I flashed it to my router without a problem.

This board is exactly the same as the SMC's SMCWBR14S-N5 rev A2, Planet's WNRT-617 v2, and Nexxt Solutions' Viking 150.

If you would be so kind to generate a file for this version, I'd be most grateful.

Thank you!

Hi LOM,

Please generate a firmware for WRN-240i, with headers to WRN-240i.

Thanks!

As I understand the Intelbras WRN 240 is a version of the WR743 v1.
Have updated the firmware that was posted by the user LOM, everything went right.
I saw this link today
http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database
we have an update of 04/2013.
So if I want to upgrade my WRN 240 can simply make the flash file available on this link or need to make any changes?

As per info from girardi, WRN240i is same as SMC's SMCWBR14S-N5 rev A2 which is using Atheros AR9331. Other members also mentioned that WRN240i has only 2M Flash. It seems like 2M support is limited to Broadcom based routers only as it is mentioned on the support device list: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices and other platforms require minimum of 4M flash.

Moreover, TP-Link has a few models using AR9331 with 2M flash and they are on the known incompatible device list: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Known_incompatible_devices

Hence I believe the chance of having dd-wrt support on WRN240i is very slim.

LOM and dextructor, thank you both for this post. I could upload dd-wrt in my WRN 240. I hope it became more stable and with better features.

Thank you all

Got some spare time already today..

Upload the file via tp-link web gui firmware update page, wait 5 minutes for router to flash and reboot.

You will then find the dd-wrt web gui on 192.168.1.1

A basic noob question. I've flashed this version ("DD-WRT v24-sp2 (07/20/12) std") to my router (WRN240 v.1). It works, but I'd like to configure it as a repeater bridge like this: https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Repeater_Bridge, or as a WDS client connected upwards via WPA2-Personal (AES). It seems a newer version of DD-WRT is required. Is it possible to upgrade it? If so, would you please point me to a page where I can find more information?

Thanks,

No, I'm talking about Intelbras WRN240 v1 (please re-read my post above). It's running quite good right now, and far better than the original fw as the main router.

However, the original fw can do WDS client, and this version of DD-WRT can't.

Of course, WRN240 v2 doesn't have sufficient resources to run DD-WRT, AFAIK. By your post, I suppose you are aware of this.
