Can't get this to work:

I have an ADSL/ROUTER in the first floor (this does not accept ddwrt firmware). On the second floor I have an wrt160n runing ddwrt as AP. What I need is to get access to the second router/AP Web Gui form outside so I can WOL Pcs in my lan.

I tried a lot of virtual server forwarding but no deal.

eibgrad,

Thanks for you reply. I tried both ways. At my last try the wan port was setup as Lan port in ddwrt. I will go back to lan port and make a try tonight, only forwarding port 80 in the ADSL/Router primary to the IP of the the second one Gui, but I´m quite sure I tried what you suggest before. DHCP is off on the second router also. The WEB GUI interface is on on port 8080.

Primary gateway is 192.168.1.1 with it´s dhcp on. Second device is on 192.168.1.20, DHCP off.

The problem in using the ADSL/Router in bridge is that I need it´s wireless station on the first floor.

The ddwrt router I already had configured for WOL and is working fine without forwarding to 255.

AP, yes they are wired.

I have already done the rule you posted above, only difference I used the 8082 port. No good. So I quess this ADSL wireless Dlink/ Router, model 2640B is blocking the web server even with the rule set in it. I just called the ISP , they told me they are not blocking port 80. I can get the primary router Web Gui password entry, but was not able to login also. I thinking maybe something with windows 7 on the outside?

I already tried the ddwrt with a modem and worked just fine, including using any port I want (not the 9) to wol, to increasy security.

I'm doing more tests, this time I puted the ddwrt wrt160n in the gateway, and I'm using an old DI604 as the second floor router plus a TPlink repeater.

The GUI form the ddwrt I can access form outside, but the Gui of the second router I cannot, even if I forward in the ddwrt door 80 to the IP of the second router Gui.

eibgard,

Thanks for your pacience. Here the details:

-Connection between routers are wired Lan-LAn

-Router 1 , wrt160n ddwrt (gateway ip 192.168.1.1, DHCP on).

Nat rule in it 192.168.1.49, port 8082 to port 80

-Router 2 - DI604 - (ip 192.168.1.49 - dhcp off).

From the internet I can access Gui of the gateway fine via port 8080. I cannot access Gui of router 2 form outside using port 8082.

Forward port 22 or put the DD-WRT router in the DMZ (this is better than port forwarding, since your port does not appear to be open), use ssh to connect to the DD-WRT router (SSH TCP forwarding enabled, disable password login, use asymmetric cryptography). Enable ssh remote control with any IP and add your external IP to asia.ham if you use OTRW.

Connect with:

ssh -o TCPKeepAlive=yes root@xx.xx.xx.xx -D 9999

Use Firefox, set a SOCKS V5 proxy to localhost, port 9999. Type 192.168.1.1 in the Firefox bar.
