I'd just like to report build r23919 is really stable, I love it. Only wish I could raise the tx power because 5ghz still sucks, 2.4 works perfect, I guess I should consider myself lucky it isn't completely congested channel-wise in my area.

Hi,
I am fairly new to DD wrt. I have installed a stable build which is dated in 2013 but having issues installing optware. I have a tp_link 4300 router and would like to install transmission and dlan service. Please suggest some links and the build to be used to get it done with minimal effort.
Thanks in advance.
Hi all, I'm a new user of DD-WRT, with my new WDR-4300 1.6, flashed with the last release v24-sp2 (03/13/14).
I have installed optware, transmission and minidlna using a guide finded in this forum, and each one works great!!!
At he moment I use a NTFS 500GB HDD installed on it and shared by samba on my home network.
I have tried DDNS with NO-IP with the same result, perfect!. I can see the remote gui of transmission outside of my home.
Finally I have set up a VPN server without any problem. All I have done helped by the threads of this forum, thanks to all.
I'm using the two frequencys of wireless with success, any problem finded, good coverage, better in 2,4Ghz.
The only problem I have is to turn off the wireless with the wps button, doesn't work, any idea???
Thanks in advance!
Hi, I am planning to configure the exact setup for my WDR-4300 1.0 router. Could you pleas provide the links or the steps to follow to install transmission and the dlan services.
Hello all, this firmware support v1.7? The mobile app Tether will work with this firmware? If not theres a similar generic app for this purpose? Thres any documentation about the firmwares versions, like known bug of each, bugfixes, new content and etc?

i have find the routers in the same price
So whats the best ?
in the specs except the wifi speed i see only one difference in Wireless NIC

SOC + Atheros AR9582 for 3600
(off topic)
another thought with 15 euro more was the WZR-600DHP2-EE but i need to connect external antenna and this unit have internal only

256/128
Broadcom BCM43228 + BCM43217
a/b/g/n 2T2R
4 Gbit LAN
1 Gbit WAN
12V/3A
1 x USB 2.0))

I also have this problem. wdr4300 v1.7. Bridge appears to work OK but it will drop the connection to the internet somewhat randomly.

Hello.
I got my WDR4300 (v1.3) setup as a client bridge. Everything seems to be fine but I get random problem where my PC loses internet connected (well everything connected to the WDR4300 "router")
It still gets a normal IP address but no internet access.
It seems to be a problem with the dns.
I tried 2 builds 21061 and now the latest 21286.
Both had the same problem.
I'm still not sure if it is a setup problem, a firmware problem or a problem with my (isp) router.
192.168.0.1 is my ISP router who does all the routing.
192.168.0.3 is a wireless AP on the same network(connected on the lan port not via wan, and dhcp server disabled).
192.168.0.5 is my dd-wrt flashed WDR4300
I tried the bridge with both wifi's and they both have the same problem.
As you can see I can still ping devices on the lan.
If I connect a other device (netbook or my phone) to the wireless router or AP they do have a working internet connection.
My pc is set on DHCP.
To "fix" the problem I have to either disable my wireless and turn it back on (the wireless on the WDR4300) or reboot the router.
This is getting real annoying and I hope someone can help me.

I have a similar problem, im using the router as an AP and randomly it loses conectivity, the devices are still conected, with an IP address, but the router does not answer ping requests. When it happens I have to reboot the router...

I had a similar problem that turned out to be hardware. The router would function at low usage okay for a few days, but heavy usage would completely lock it up. I could consistently recreate the problem by doing any large file copy or download at high speed (>1-2MB/sec) over wifi. Even copying from one PC to another on the network via wifi would cause it. Within 30 seconds the router would be nonfunctional and only a hard reboot would cure. I tried going back to stock firmware, then back to dd-wrt, 30-30-30 reset, etc. Finally got TP-link to replace the router and the new one appears to work.
A warning - TP-Link's RMA process is designed to be as slow and frustrating as possible. I had done all of this troubleshooting before I called them the first time and it still took 4 calls, 3 emails and almost 3 months to get my router replaced. First call they said they would check for a new, unpublished firmware and email me. 3 days later an email saying no new firmware exists and call back. Next call, BS troubleshooting about my internet service, and wanting to get a list of every piece of hardware on my network so they could 'recreate it in their lab' and so forth and so on. Finally got approved for RMA, and waited 2 days for an email asking for proof of purchase. Sent it and several days later got RMA info. I shipped my router priority mail and got the replacement about 3 weeks later.
If you leave a negative review on the site where you bought it, you might get a followup comment from TP-Link with contact info for a better RMA experience.
