Hello
I would like to get an image of DDWRT for the Mikrotik RB450G if possible.
This is a commercial request and am prepared to pay for the job to be done professionally.
Requirements:
1. Two images required where one to be run from volatile area and other to be run from non-volatile area.
2. We want to manage the uploads of the image via the serial connection using the bootloader on the rb450g, and then manage it via the serial connector.
3. We need to run an OpenVPN client with the all the features included.
I have collated the following information according to new hardware request instructions:
Mikrotik RB450G
Not in supported database
Not in unsupported database
Non FCC approved as does not have wiFi built in.
Note: we want to use the device with DDWRT as a SOHO router and obviously not interested in the Wireless components of DDWRT
Product code RB450G
CPU speed 680MHz
Current Monitor No
RAM 256MB
Architecture MIPS-BE
LAN ports 5
Gigabit Yes
MiniPCI No
Integrated Wireless No
USB No
Memory Cards 1
Memory card type microSD
Power Jack 10-28V
802.3af support No
PoE 10-28V
Voltage Monitor Yes
CPU temperature monitor No
PCB temperature monitor Yes
Temperature range -40C to +70C
This board is mentioned in openWRT forum but it rather looks like the implementation of openWRT on the RB450G was not completed.

Please forget my last post. The device does have a microSD slot. I will find out next week if it is possible to boot from it. I have not found any evidence from documentation so far that supports boot from the micro sd.

the RB450G boots from the the NAND and the FLASH memory which we know can be done. It may be possible to use the SD card but that should not be necessary.

I have installed OpenWrt on my RB450G, finally after locating the sliver of relevant documentation.
From what I've read, nothing indicates it's possible to boot from the Micro-SD slot. At least if assuming one is using the provided RouterBoot bootloader. I'm not an embedded engineer, so the actual possibilities may be much broader. Although if your talking about booting something from RouterBoot, it seems like a NAND only option. At the same time, there is a decent amount of space on that NAND, it's almost approx 512MB. So you should not be space limited, if considering just the OS. In addition, the boot procedure for RouterBoot is appropriately documented. OpenWrt also already has a script, wget2nand, which was created for another Mikrotik board. wget2namd worked for my RB450G, and i'm sure the RouterBoot process could be worked out studying that script. _________________ http://techzilla.info/ | http://techzilla.biz/ | http://tech-zilla.com/
