I followed below steps to configure my router with DD-WRT firmware. Please follow these steps and let me know if 5GHz works or not.

1. Set SSID of 5GHz interface as "ddwrt5G"
2. Click save button.
3. Select "11n only(5GHz)" mode.
4. Clock save button again.
5. Select channel as 44.
6. Click save button.
7. Disable security (by default it is disabled).
8. Click apply button.
9. Then connect my client with ddwrt5G and it works.

I used the exact steps you provided, except for the ddwrt SSID name, I changed my name to something else...

Not sure how the SSID name plays into the radio working or not...But I am going to buy another R6300 today...

I hope I have your commitment to provide some updates for me/US to test with. I will happily donate to your efforts.

Are you saying that after following the steps 5ghz worked?
Did you try WPA2?

No, it did not work. I was trying to say I used the proposed settings and it did not work...

Sorry for the confusion...

I would LOVE to see the developer respond and commit to working with us and providing frequent ROM updates for us to test. I am willing to donate to the cause and buy a second R6300 to test with...

Let me try it once more.
I tested this firmware with no security as well as with security. All worked fine.
Could you please try with other bandwidth like 20 MHz?
One difference I can notice is we are testing this firmware in different countries.

Please telnet in and type
"wl -i eth2 status" and send me the output. It will help me to debug the problem.

Thanks all for your help.

Followed exactly with a NEW firmware installation. 5G does not work. Looked for the 5G wireless SSID with my iPad2 and Wireless USB device.

DD-WRT shows that is it running but there is not a singnal found. See pics

I took a pic of my Netgear Router R6300 Serial and details.

It might be hugely different from the one you are working with.

I decided to keep DDWRT installed even though 5ghz is not working.

I would be willing to donate for more development on the R6300. I will continue to test for future builds

This week I will test the QoS.

Great post Daddyfix....

Sorry I did not do this today....Had to go mattress shopping with the wife. I will pick up a second Netgear tomorrow and post my results which I assume will be the same as yours.

Developers....Again..THANK YOU!!!!

Can you tell us how to donate/support your efforts? I think I can speak for us all...We don't want to be lechers who only B!tch...We want to contribute...

I only want/need one feature to work very well...2.4GHz clients, and bridge the APs on the 5GHz side using 802.11ac speeds...All with WPA-AES....

And...Can you give us an idea of when we could see another release?

Today I noticed that NAT Loopback wasn't working. I couldn't get to my internal webcam from inside the network.

I had to add the following iptables rules. Once I added the following the router reset and rebooted. I then added the rules saved, applied settings then set up the rest of my network settings.

http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=89353
Code:
insmod ipt_mark
insmod xt_mark
iptables -t mangle -A PREROUTING -i ! `get_wanface` -d `nvram get wan_ipaddr` -j MARK --set-mark 0xd001
iptables -t mangle -A PREROUTING -j CONNMARK --save-mark
iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -m mark --mark 0xd001 -j MASQUERADE

It would be nice if I could know which build the DDWRT was taken from.

I used DD-WRT v24-sp2 mega build. If you know latest stable revision number then please let me know. I will try to release next firmware based on that revision.

"wl -i eth2 status" is exactly same with my wireless status and in my set up 5GHz is working fine. I will share the screen shots soon.
