I am anyway preparing a doc about how to configure wireless using DD-WRT firmware. In the meantime can you please follow below steps?
Go to Wireless -> Basic Settings.
Under device wl1, select AC mode -> Hit "Save" -> Select channel width to 80 MHz -> Hit "Save" -> Select channel as you wish -> Hit "Save" -> Hit "Apply"

OK...WTF...I must have tried this 20 times....But now...I can connect to the 5GHz radio...see PICs....BUT....Look at the pics....It is set to 80Mhz channel width, but it will not use anything other than channel 36. I even tried to change the channel to 149...it stays on channel 36....notice there are no bonded channel....my Macbook Pro is a year 2011 with three antenna....It can use the 40Mhz band on the 5GHz radio....so it should be connecting at 450Mbps (it does with the net-gear firmware) and I am sitting 3 feet from the R6300....

Connected...That's good news, not using the any bonded channels like it should be....and I am 2-3 feet from the R6300...
Here I can see that channel is "Auto". First you select region (you can see that option at the top of the page) -> Hit "Save" -> Select channel to 44 (for example) -> Hit "Save" -> Hit "Apply"

Keep going...Making progress....BUT....look at the PIC....changes to Channel 44...its says 42....BUT....now my macbook pro is connecting at 450Mbps....So it is using channel bonding, but the DD-WRT does not show what bonded channel it is using, unless 42 is the bonded channel...should that not say 44+42 then?????

See 450Mbps, which is ONLY possible with 40Mhz channel width....Great to see....
Did you use client-bridge mode in dd-wrt firmware?
You can try --
Configure DD-WRT firmware with 802.11ac AP... configure other router with stock firmware and in client-bridge mode.
I did not test client bridge mode in DD-WRT firmware.
tathagata....I have good news....It took some tweaks, but I had to change the DD-WRT back to AP mode....then I changed the channel back to 36.....then I change my R6300 Netgear Firmware to channel 36 (not the best channel in North America, but....I CAN CONFIRM THAT 802.11AC IS WORKING!!!! I was able to change the DD-WRT back to Client Bridge, after making these channel changes above...then it connected to the Netgear Firmware on the other R6300...Since DD-WRT will not show me my link speed, I tested with a large file copy.....200Mbps....I think the lower speed is due to the lower channels....i was getting 300+ on channels 149, etc....
Can you fix this...? I CANNOT change the channel on the DD-WRT to anything in the 149 or higher range...
I will leave DD-WRT on tonight...and play tomorrow...its 1:30AM, need to get up for work in 6 hours...
This is great....as long as its stable I will switch both R6300 to DD-WRT in the next 24-48 hours...
If I get DD-WRT WDS working then I owe you a nice holiday gift...lol...joking...I think we owe you a gift regardless...
Again good to know that client-bridge is working. Higher channel should work in that firmware. Did you follow same steps to change channel?
Thanks for your effort.
Yes, same steps...change the channel to 149, clicked save, then apply....no affect....changed to 153, clicked save, then apply, no affect...changed to channel 36, clicked save, then apply...WORKED....
