I like to ask, if there is any new build for that router. Or if at least a new version is in development. Cause the R6300 is not listed under the supported devices Sad.

So sad, because the N6300 official fw is one of the worst I've ever seen. Sad

Please give me (and propably others) an update Very Happy. Thank you... and thx for the effort of the developer so far Smile.

I am working on it and planning to release another version. But first of all I need to figure out why 5GHz is not working for all users. I know some users where 5GHz is working.

Glad to here that Very Happy. Yes I read about this 5GHz issue with your fw. So I would propably give the current FW of you a try tonight and will report if 5G is workin for me Smile.

Could you please share your country location? I know some other users who informed me that 5GHz work in their set up.
Also please let me know which Netgear firmware do you use?

I found couple of issues raised about DD-WRT firmware. Let me summarise my test result.

1. wl0 supports only 2.4 GHz.
2. wl1 supports both 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHz.
3. Wireless Security work fine on both interfaces.

It will be very helpful if you all can summarise the issues. It will help me to fix them and release another version. Also what is test result when you use Netgear firmware with similar configuration?

Okay I've an interesting report for the original firmware.

Well when the router started up for the first time shortly the 5GHz w-lan popped up in my iPhone 5's list of networks. After 10 seconds it disapeared and never popped up again.

It's activated in the settings of the router and everything. The router tells me that both (5, 2.4) channels are acrivated and working correct. And 2.4GHz works like a charm. So it's propably a hardware issue that it's not working for everyone...

I tried 5ghz again today. LOL I thought, maybe it will work today... LOL

Doogi_2G is my Netgear R6300 DDWRT 2.4 Ghz
Doogi_Bridge is my Linksys E2000 DDWRT Client Bridge

As you can see from my iPad2... ddwrt5G,5ghz,N only,channel 44, Does not show in Networks list.

So 5GHz is not working with Netgear's original firmware also. It may be either set up issue or hardware issue.

Question, and this is most likely ignorance on my part.

I thought the R6300 had a 2.4GHz and 5GHz radio..and the 5GHz radio was only for 802.11a,g, n and ac....So how does the 5GHz radio operate in 2.4GHz mode....I notice the wl0 interface 2.4 is ONLY 2.4, but the wl1 interface 5GHz is 2.4 and 5....This doesn't make sense to me...

I am about to test the firmware again..Hoping for a different result....But it think we have enough results to know its not going to work...

You can configure second interface (wl1) in 2.4GHz also. For that you need to select mode as Mixed or N-Only (2.4GHz) etc. But usually wl0 is used for 2.4GHz and wl1 is used for 5GHz.
