Because I had such a hell of a time finding a download link to the latest version that works well, here it is for anyone else looking: http://www.myopenrouter.com/download/43860/DD-WRT-for-R6300/

It's for Netgear R6300 v1, based on DD-WRT 24170. Publish date is 9/27/2014. I've had no issues with it. Both wl0 and wl1 work great. Latency is low and stable, especially 5g.

Flash like any other DD-WRT build: factory reset, upload the file using the web interface, do a 30-30-30 reset.

Use this one first http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt-ren/K3-AC/Initial/dd-wrt.v24-K3_R6300.chk

Then the rest are here ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/
Look for your unit and use the .bin files once you have dd-wrt already on it.

Thank you,
is there any particular guide to follow in order to setup the router to achieve full performance? (talking about 5Ghz ecc). Any other place where should i learn more about problems regarding this unit?

Btw could you explain me why i can't directly use the *.chk from the ftp?

Regards,

I have been running "DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/23/14) kongac - build 23770M" since May 2014 without any apparent issues. I have two R6300v2 with one as a wireless repeater. With AC, I am seeing 898 MB/s as reported by the Wireless NIC (Netgear A6200).

Are there any specific newer bins that anyone would recommend that have better performance than the one I am currently using?

well the new wifi driver is out...
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=278372
check out the last few pages for reports on the most recent builds.

and the most recent new builds thread has reports of success on your device:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=278610

I've reported my expierence on both those threads with the same hardware as you have.

ps. Balance ^^that^^ with a dose of "if it isn't broke, don't fix it" logic.

So basically I have 2 R6300 V1, one as a router and one as a repeater bridge to connect a TV and a Raspberry Pi, today I tried to connect them with 5Ghz AC only but the Tx rates are even lower than 2.4Ghz, as you can see on the picture the 2 devices are connected and I get connectivity each way, do you think it is because of the version?
