I think Kong is working in making packages widely available through opkg. For the moment I was desperate to get rsync working for my file backup purposes so i built it from source.

have attached for anyone else who needs it. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rsync)

I would assume place the rsync binary at /opt/bin with ssh, then just use as normal...
