So I got CFE up. Had to DC VCC and swap TX and RX. But now I'm having trouble getting TFTP2.exe and "flash -noheader : flash1.trx" working.

It just gives me:
CFE> flash -noheader : flash1.trx
Reading :: TFTP Server.
Failed.: Error
*** command status = -1

Not sure how to proceed at present.

After long searching i found on youtube the answer:

I finally got mine into recovery mode !!!!
ASUS RT-N66U

Had to hold down wps button, then power on, then once the router rebooted (all lights flash) let go of the wps button, and hold the reset button.
then the left blue light flash slowly.

This put it into recovery mode for me. Hope this helps.

grtz

It helped, thx so much..I spent ages doing all sort of manipulations to that black box. Had no ping, no sign of life. Got it working thx to you...

Just wanted to say thanks for this info..
I had attempted for hours to get a response from my AC66U_B1 and wasn't getting anything.

I pressed and helded the WPS button till the power LED started flashing fairly fast, I then tapped the reset button and started getting ping responses. I was then able to access the recovery flash interface.

Much gratitude!
