hello, what is the best firmware for the E4200?
I did not understand the different from nv 60 and not nv60.
I've already done the flash following the wiki guide, now I want to put a big.

I don't realy know what build works for the e4200 but you can only flash nv60 variants.

This is because the cfe size of the e4200 is 60 instead of the "normal" 32.

flashing non nv60 builds will brick your device.

Try this build:

Don't flash a too old build, since this router is only supported starting with a certain build.

Hi Merovingi0,

The version that I was using without any problem in E4200 as a server was: 18777, but this version doesn't works for me as a client.

My network had 1-E4200 as a server and 2-WRT160NL as a client and with the mentioned above version works, but after replacing both WRT160NL for E4200 doesn't worked anymore...

If you connect by a Windows / Linux server should be working without any problem, but not with the E4200 as a client, KEEP IN MIND this advice.

Many thanks and regards.

I have issues with my current e4200 setup:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=721700#721700

I tried latest toastman tomato firmware, and I tried the dd-wrt firmware advised on the e4200 dd-wrt wiki page. Both are not perfect.

What is the difference between standard e4200 dd-wrt firmware and this fractal firmware?

I've been having success with 20202-mega, with the settings detailed here:

Hi Steve,

I agree at hundred per cent...

Recently I have upgraded my 3 E4200 to newer versions like 20575 from kong, 20656 from fractal and 20675 brainslayer and no one is better than 20202 from my perspective, so I went back and rolling it back to the 20202.

Just a comment I like your signature and hopefully a provider with a new offer with 300/100 dataline can cover my area to get kind of your resulst in the speedtest. Smile

Best regards.

I was actually toying with the idea of testing out 20675 myself. When you tried it out, what made you roll back to 20202?

Hi Steve,

Well, my main claiming is about the reduction of the WAN interface...

I wanted to show you a comment that I posted in a wrong part of the fórum in artheros part saying that the WAN interface have decreased a lot.

In a OpenVPN environment from 85/11Mb to a 65/9Mb and in a non OpenVPN environment 98/12Mb to 85/10Mb as far as I remember.

So, I won't recommend you to upgrade to this versión and the others that also I mentioned in my post work more or less like the 20202, but the OpenVPN log weren't working at all, so I can't see any kind of information.

I hope this helps or at least bring you a brief overview on my experience.

Best regards.
