I spent almost 2 weeks trying to figure this out. I purchased activation and I cannot install the flash to the PowerAP N.

I checked several threads like this:

but none of the FW listed anywhere will install on my powerap n device.

I have the latest firmware from ubnt:

Firmware Version: XM.v5.5.2
Build Number: 14175

I restored the powerap n to the factory settings. Holding the reset button and applying power it gets into tftp mode - two sets of port numbers are flashing alternately.

when I apply the ubnt FW, the 1 and 5 lights up till it is installing then reboots and it comes back, I can ping it, I can access it.

When I apply the dd-wrt FW, the 1 and 5 lights up, after a few seconds it goes back into 1-3 and 2-4 flashing together whcih means it is ready to accept the new FW - so obviously does not accept the DD-WRT FW.

Can somebody please let me know why is device listed as "compatible" if it does not accept the DD-WRT firmware? Especially - why did I pay for activation if I cannot install it? Is there a refund policy?

It has been installing for over 2 hours and it is still only at about 60-65%. Is this normal?

It looks like it is working because it does not time out and the progress bar on the tftp2 software is moving very slowly.

The device pings in the mean time properly, so I hope in the next 2 hours will finish it...

After 3 hours it finally timed out. It came back to tftp mode. This time the firmware went on without a glitch in less than 3 minutes. Thanks for the help and suggestions.
