Oh ok I see, thank you.

So if I want to flash from DD-WRT (let say for the WNDR4300) to the 4300 stock firmware, do I just download the firmware from netgear and flash it? Or is there a method that I have to do before I can do that? any help would be appreciated.

Not sure. It is similar to the wndr3700 and wndr3800, I would use the method used on those to revert to stock fw. Follow this guide except use the fw for your router. http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=79802

I downloaded and used tftp.exe insted of using the client in windows.

What would be the installation instructions for getting the 4300 flashed? Does it need the two rounds of the triple 30 second flash?

Is this guide applicable?

Ok so I got the DD-WRT installed perfectly for my Netgear WNDR4300 router. But I just couldn't find the wireless signal booster (TX power) anywhere in the interface. I checked other ppl videos on youtube and they showed it in the Wireless tab.

Atheros builds don't have mega or big. They are as is.

Thanks Brainslayer!
Everything worked like a charm Cool

I've just a couple of question about the hardware. Maybe not the right topic.

Is it possible to connect a USB hub and connect multiple USB devices?

There is 128MB NAND flash. How can use all the storage as JFFS or otherwise? If I run the df command only 18 MB is allocated. Is it possible to mount the remaining 110MB?

Again thanks a lot!

Many thanks again Brainslayer. I upgraded to your last firmware (15-04-2013) and jffs2 is working out of the box!

Very Happy

I had a problem with the NetGear Genie app frequently reporting 'Internet Disconnected' ( Build 21153 and previous ).

I finally fixed this by setting both radios to Turbo, Wireless N only, and fixed channels. IOW - no 'Automatic' selections.

I think it might have been a channel hopping problem, but I'm not sure.

FWIW - I use bluetooth, so I set most of my devices to prefer the 5ghz channel. My Canon printer only has 2.4, so I had to leave that radio on. The bluetooth speaker dropouts dissappeared.

I'm applying 21286 next...

Hi,
I just got a WNDR4300 and was running the March 25 build r21061 on it for a week without any issues. Then one day I couldn't connect to the internet and eventually figured out there was an issue with the router. Directly connecting the modem to the computer or modem to a different router receives internet just fine.

I have tried reinstalling the same build and also the newest April 15 build on it with no difference. I have restored default settings, 30/30/30 reset, and reset modem + router many times with no change. I do notice that the LAN and wifi lights blink green but I believe they should be solid green which I find weird. The internet light shows solid green.

I reflashed with the Netgear firmware and the router works fine. Please let me know what you think could be wrong or what I can check for a solution. Thank you!

The lights flash when the radio is in use.

Just a thought - maybe a neighbor has set up a router and is interfering with your channel selection - which is different than the one you're using with the factory firmware? Try using something like inSSIDer to see what's going on around you - and to verify that the router radios are on.

Do You have the problem with both 2.4G and 5G? Dump 2.4G if you can. Use "N" only if you can.

With the Netgear firmware the lights are solid when the radio is in use, as well as the ethernet ports. Are they supposed to flash with ddwrt?

I have tried inSSIDer and have chosen the least used channel, which is the same as the channel that I use with the router that does work.

Even when connected to the WNDR4300 via ethernet I do not have internet so it is not a problem with the radios.

Thank you for your suggestions though. Anything else I may check?
