Is there a way to toggle wi-fi pressing wireless button? I know, there is the option to use wps button to switch off wireless but it does not work. My router power off wireless when reboots (and it is ok), I can enable wi-fi by pressing the button but I can't disable it. The only way is reboot!
Is there a way to enable wi-fi enable/disable via button?

1. Can someone post detailed instructions please...thanks
i am going from stock to dd-wrt and the img files dont work for me. the one from dd-wrt main wndr4300 page (04/11), brainslayer (0527), and the one that is in this thread. All three are different sizes.
2. what is the checksum for img file?
tftp2 freezes at around 90% and never completes.
tftp from command line says success but afterwards the router just keeps resetting itself-- power light is yellow and every 30-45 seconds the router flashes all lights (except 2.4) and then restarts. i see a few pings and then ..nothing. i don't see how 30/30/30 would work on this device when it is in this state.
tftp2 & tftp from command line work with stock firmware. they load and the router starts up on its own, so no brick
web interface gets to around 95% and then disconnects, but never updates. also, the fw version number is strange. it says going from 1.x.x.xx to .x.x.xx leaving the first number blank. (i assume the fw version is not the issue). i have tried web interface with IE and Chrome, http and https.
i do not see a "v4" on my hardware... is this actually a v4 device or was it mislabeled? i read that it is a branch from the 3700v4, but the v4 label seems to be erroneous.
nothing works... please help
I bought recently Netgear wndr4300 and tried to install dd-wrt but have same issue as above. Can somebody guide me how to solve it ?

Hello there!
Because of limited time and performance issues (router reboots a lot, WiFi signal is weak) I have to restore a Netgear N750 WNDR4300-100PES router (now having DD-WRT installed) to its original starting state, to the original firmware state (of course factory firmware) as close as possible.
Basically the task seems to be easy I wonder what issues I might face with? Do I have to use the original firmware downloaded from Netgear, or do I have to press the reset button simply? I have read in one of the topics (can't recall where), that WNDR4300 routers are unbrickable, so a basic reset button should resolve this. Is this true, and if yes, do I have to do this while the device is powered on and running?
Anyone got some experience with this?
Regards,
norbert79

Update:
Following the advice of SSH-ing into the router, erasing Linux (erase linux), rebooting the router, allowing it to erase the image, then TFTP the original firmware back did the trick. Regular 30-30-30 didn't work, no idea why...

Upgraded WNDR4300 with build 21061 and 23919, the WIFI signal is really bad. Could not get 5G signal through out the house. The factory firmware has better WIFI coverage. Is there any other new firmware for this router? Thanks.
Ok, so tested DD-WRT with WNDR4300, but sadly it had some very strange stability issues. After constant reboots I have decided to re-TFTP the original image, which worked nice.
Anyone else got an experience with DD-WRT on this device? I wonder if it could be made better, as I really miss some of the features DD-WRT has.
I'm experiencing huge performance losses in terms of speed. Instead of 250 mbit down I only get ~130 mbit (directly connected to the router). I expected some performance losses but over 100mbit loss seems quite dramatic.

I actually came to post I'm having the exact same issue. Connected directly to the modem I get 300 down and 20 up and behind the WNDR4300 with dd-wrt I only get maybe 130 down and 10 up. I'm running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/25/13) std - build 21061. I just installed it last night and everything else is working great.

Thanks much for the link! But I asked the wrong question.
I desire to have the latest stable DD-WRT firmware for the Netgear WNDR4300. Could I get a link or even have someone help me understand how I determine what DD-WRT's are the stable version for me router?
THANKS!
