All-

I have identified my router as:

FCC_ID:PY310200135
Chipset: Atheros AR7240@400
Model: wnr2000v3.

I would like to install dd-wrt on the router as the netgear firmware is buggy at best.

The supported devices document says I need.

v24 sp2 - build 18404 - 20120208

Special note:
flash overtake img and then dd-wrt img

Can anyone help out with where and what files I need to download for this router and how to install them?

Thanks in advance,

ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2012/03-19-12-r18777/netgear-wnr2000v3/

first flash one of the factory images(usually _NA) from the stock firmware and then flash webflash.bin

flash these builds and no others. newer builds are too big and will not fit.

So let me make sure i got this right.

Step 1: (flash with the following):
ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2012/03-19-12-r18777/netgear-wnr2000v3/wnr2000v3-factory_NA.img

Step 2: (flash with the following):
ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2012/03-19-12-r18777/netgear-wnr2000v3/wnr2000v3-webflash.bin

Do I just flash with the web interface that netgear provided with the initial stock firmware or is there some other method?

Hi,

I have the same router Netgear WNR2000v3 with DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/19/12) std - build 18777

It says the min required DD-WRT version is v24 sp2 - build 18404 - 20120208 but when I search for that is brings me here.

I want to use my router in Repeater Bridge mode but that option is not available.

I notice you said not to use any other build as it wont fit but
http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database
has Build 21061 listed and it's size is 3.39 mb while the router Flash MB is 4 MB.

Are you aware if that build works and if it has the Repeater Bridge Function? Can you recommend another build that has that feature?

Thanks

hi
I had the same problem but I solved it, if you will do your setting as it shows up in the attachment you will be fine and you can do repeater function.

hi
if you want to go back to the original factory firmware
you can do that by flashing the router in the TFTP mode, I will attach the program and the file needed. it is easy and it will put you back to the original firmware and from there you can do whatever you want.
download the two attachments to your desktop or laptop
1- first put your router in the tftp mode by press the reset button by a paper clip and turn it on and keep pressing reset button until the power light flash yellow and then green after it flash green for 10 times remove the paper clip from the reset hole
2- connect to your router by Ethernet cable
3- turn all your wireless network off( from your laptop make sure you are connected the router by Ethernet only) and you are not connected to any other wireless network.
4- in the first line write the address of the router and in the last line browse for the firmware I attached too in this link
5- click upgrade
6- wait for at least 3 minutes and now you can connect to the router by writing the router address 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and enter the user name and password which are written on your router.
7- done now you r on the stock firmware.

No luck

No matter what I do, I can not get build 18777 off!

dd a 30/30/30

green flashing light
ran tftp - choose 1.0.26 factory firmware
Firmware updaded successfully as per tftp -
Waited 20 minutes - router never resets itself

When I power off and back on, I'm at the reset username and password screen of dd-wrt build 18777 still - all setting intact - no change

Yeah - definitely having issues. Despite having radio function to read all other networks in the area, etc. I can not get anything to find this router. Sad

And flashing a new version still isn't working. Router will not reset itself. Read more about a direct interface with board, but the cable would cost me more than a new router form newegg Sad
