with wdr4900 wan port connected to wndr3700 lan port

r24780
340mbps qos off
270mbps qos limit of 300mbps down/up + htb + fq_codel

r23919
350mbps qos off
290mbps qos limit of 300mbps down/up + htb + fq_codel

cpu was pegged at 99.9% sirq usage during the test, guess its not enabled then..well so much for that..

this was with netperf using a single instance of "netperf -H 10.150.11.110 -l 20 -- -m65536", double instance of said command resulted in the same throughput

Actually, Hardware NAT is only created by two constructers, one of them Freecome cpu's has just published there source code, that means that all the DD-wrt's could enable Nat hardware with this simple code.

I for example have the tp-link wdr-4900 because it has one of the fastest cpu's on the market and NAT Acceleration, and the source code for the hardware acceleration is published here:
http://nl.tp-link.com/resources/gpl/TL-WDR4900_eu_1.0_GPL.tar.gz

But they made all there routers opensource (GPL)

you mean freescale? cause the wdr4900 has a freescale cpu, also post a trac support ticket with this info, if it is accurate it could aid ddwrt. http://svn.dd-wrt.com/timeline

its the best single core cpu out there that i know of, but iirc, the nat chip itself will determine nat performance as the workload is offloaded to it, instead of the cpu. like for instance the fastest internet available to me is 250mbps down with docsis 3.0 at an expensive $150+/month, this 800mhz freescale would be able to take that, WITH qos, just barely based on my nat tests i did(see above). the commonly known AR7161 @ 680mhz caps at around 95-115mbps with qos on going by various reports. powerpc seems very efficient i wish more routers utilized this architecture..

Lol, yes, freescale, Freecom is the CD-rom builder lol Smile

You have the link with the GPL code now, it should work on all the freescale cpu's where the HW accceleration chip is on.

Finally ready for the future Smile

Traq support ticket? I'm really novice at dd-wrt, so I have no idea what you mean, maybe you submit it?

Could hardware NAT also be enabled on the wndr3700v4? Embarassed

(It's my favourite DDWRT router ATM! ... But the wifi still needs tweaking! ... Which'll hopefully happen in the next firmware release) Cool
