Thanks for this post, had been hunting myself for a bit. I'm still running the v24-sp2 21061 Beta from 2013 but recommended version. found my version listed and will check it out tomorrow. Thanks!

Guys just loaded and tested the 24461 K3.X mega build after a few years of running the old V24 PreSP2 Build 21061 that is STILL RECOMMENDED in router database!!
Why doesn't anyone update that? If they had, it would have saved me a few hours of my time.... multiply that by countless people who probably trust that nearly two year old code is the newest approved code!! Can I get an amen? lol
I absolutely love the extended feature set in MEGA, and I am also going to sleep well tonight knowing I am on a 3.x code base, and a relatively new build.

I flashed to K3.x build dd-wrt.v24-21605_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-nv60k.bin from first post to my e3000. All seems to be working fine, then I did the following:
1. 30/30/30 reset
2. Flash dd-wrt.v24-23598_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-nv60k.bin
3. router booted to normal GUI, and all ok
4. Wait for a few minutes and do 30/30/30 reset.
5. Router booted to GUI but the power LED is blinking continuously, the router information page shows the router is now wrt54g/gs/gl, and CPU clock becomes unknown frequency.
6. I also tried dd-wrt.v24-24118_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-e3000.bin and dd-wrt.v24-24461_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-e3000.bin. They all ended with same result, i.e. if I do not do 30/30/30 reset, the router works just fine but it will become "wrt54g/gs/gl" and unusable after 30/30/30 reset.
I don't have this problem using 21676 build. What is the problem with later builds?

Hi All,
k3.x 21605 loads on Belkin f7d7302 but no Lan connectivity. Wireless works fine.
I tried upgrading to 24441 which is the latest public k3.x but after pressing upgrade it gives me "upgrade successful" within 5 seconds. Through wireless since the switch doesn't work.
Router boots back up with same firmware.
Having tested other builds since I was last here, including builds from KONG, I must come back to:
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (04/07/12) mega - build 18946M NEWD-2 K2.6 Eko
I do not know what devs did in this build or what they changed since, but for me it's the build that offers the greatest area coverage, the most stable and cleanest wireless signal.
Maybe check what is different from this build, regarding wireless driver, compared to newer builds?
Kong 22000+ is what I was running on my e4200 till about 3 weeks ago.
I gave in and tried upgrading to the latest K3 build (24461) but its been giving me headaches since.
1) had to fully rebuild the config as it didn't port well from the Kong build.
2) firewall is still not passing traffic to the wan for my guest WiFi and openvpn subnets... Same rules were working on my Kong config.
3) router does pull wan IP on reboot... Need to bounce it twice for it to work.
On the positive note the WiFi signal is strong, options nicely integrated (Mega build) and overclocking built in a nice touch (and rock stable). _________________ R7000 BS k3@1200

Just reporting this.
Thanks.
Hi, you need to "trail" the builds on this router.
For example, you'll flash the 2.6 mini build initially, then go to the first K3.X kernel build in the OP, and then upgrade further using generic builds, not the F7D7302 labeled builds. Do not 30/30/30 when using the K.3X builds otherwise the router will softbrick - at least that's how it's been in my situation.
Not sure if any of that are bugs but that is how I got these builds working.

I tried the october 27th build and it flashed ok.
(25179)
Maybe give that a try? Just make sure you take all the necessary precautions first (30/30/30 reset and so on)
why don't I have a minidlna option on my Linksys E4200 with broadcom K3x r25179 firmware... Did proper flash, hard reset does not help... Going back to K26, I guess...

Hi,
I'll be happy to test something more recent on my R7000 who still have crazy reboot (Kong 25100M) ...
that thread is quite long ... what is the last version to test on that one?

Testing r25309 on WNDR4500v2. Looks like all things works. I have issues with PPTP Passthrough on Kong's builds 25000+ (it was last worked in 24200), but in BS r25309 all is fine too.
Wi-Fi speed even UP with new wireless settings/options.
Both 2.4 and 5 GHz radios works.
Few notes: I have very long boot on all BS builds I tried. Router lights are amber on Power and WAN leds about 1.5 minutes, and only after that time overs (both USB, Wi-Fi 2.4/5) come to life. On Kong's builds they light up in 30 sec or a minute I think.
I disabled "boot wait" option in GUI, buth this doesn't have any effect.

went from Kong's 25015-SP1 to 25309_NEWD_K3 with no issues at all on my Netgear WNDR4500v1. The reason I did it was because I was having a few client drops on 2.4GHz when at idle, couldn't figure out what it was.
On this 25309 I notice everything works, performance is nice and smooth. The changes I made were MTU size, DNS's, short Preamble, enable UPnP, N-only mode, wide HT40, disable SSID broadcast, and setup port forwarding. So far so good.
The only issue I found was the Wireless Channel. It seems that no matter what it always sets to Auto. Did a 30/30/30 and it was available again, I setup all my settings once again and it defaulted to Auto and stays that way unless the router gets a reset. So, Wireless Channel cannot be changed and stays in Auto. That's the only issue I find.
Anybody having this issue or I am doing something wrong?
